AUTHOR'S NOTE: I really considered all of your ideas that te gave me really hard, but this one stuck out to me the most! It is one of the più burning domande all of us have wanted to know so here I will tell te everything! Do enjoy!
Winston a strong Alpha lupo and leader of the Western Pack. His shoulders are broad, thick muscle can be seen sculpted through the pelliccia here. His eyes are clear and bright and his ears are perked upward and keen to the slightest noise around him. He is in his prime years currently, a happy Alpha and a new father of 2 week old Kate and 1 week old Lilly.
Winston sits at the mouth of the cave where his wife Eve is resting with Kate and Lilly cuddled up to her belly sleeping. She has become very protective of them, and sadly Winston could not be let near for awhile. So for the first mese o two, he would have to watch them grow from afar.
In his mind, he is thinking his old friend Tony was probably already a father since Tony was 2 years older than he.
It was then a idea came to him, he would go and see Tony to find out. He quietly turned around as not to wake the little ones from their nap, and left the cave to head to the superiore, in alto of the Howling rocks where he howled toward the eastern side of the valley.
Not much time passed before another deep howl echoed over the bacheca to him; Winston cocked his ears forward, listening intently to the sound. Tony had accepted his invite and would meet him at the boarderline seperating the two territories.
Winston was relived to hear from his friend, and he excidedly padded his way down to the boarderline which happened to be a small creek that cut and meandered all the way through Jasper in a fairly even line. It was musky and cool down here, the sun only reached the ground here in midday and the rest of the time it was all shaded in. Fog curled about at Winston's paws as he made his way to the edge of the creek and sat down, his tail naturally sweeping up against his right leg as he did. It was eerie quiet as he waited, keeping his eyes out for any movement around him and his ears cocked inoltrare, avanti listening for any sound.
Finally after what seemed like ages, a twig snapped somewhere in the trees across the creek. Winston could see the outline of a massive, burly, well built red shape slowling making its way for the opposite bank of the creek where he was sitting. Winston sighed in relief before he spoke.
"Hello Tony glad te could make it!" Winston detto standing up, Tony did not speak right away but aknowledged Winston da nodding his head to him. It was then Winston noticed that Tony had not come alone. Behind him scampered a young lupo pup with a bright red coat, creamy colored underbelly, and strikingly green eyes. Winston also noticed that Tony appeared to be in pain as he jumped across the creek and sat down.
"Who is this?" Winston asked, bending down to sniff the young wolf. Tony cleared his throat.
"This is my son Garth Winston! He is about two months old now!" Tony detto gruffly.
Winston's ears perked, he had known Tony his whole life since puphood and could tell that something was wrong da the tone in his voice.
"What's wrong Tony?" Winston asked boldly, failing to aknowledge young Garth who playfully padded around his paws, nipping them gently.
Tony let out a long and heavy sigh, "I suppose te noticed I am injured?" Tony asked turning to look into Winston's eyes. Winston noticed now that Tony had tears in his eyes.
"Tony what happened? Where is your mate and this guy's mom?"
"Me and Tonja were out hunting two days ago, we left Garth with Scar and Claw for the time since I needed Tonja's help if I brought down something big...Hold on a second."
Tony then got up and nudged his son, "Garth go over there and play with those birds! Get them for cena okay?" Tony smiled at his son. Garth in turn smiled back at him with glee, "okay Daddy!" He scampered off playfully in the direction of the birds.
"He is too young to know right now...Anyway I managed to wound a caribou, but it was not enough to kill it and it began to make a lot of noise and little did I know it was calling for help." Tony sighed again before taking another deep breath. Winston kept listening intently.
"I kept working on the downed animal, trying to get it to stop making that awful noise. Then in the back of my mind, I could hear a distinct rumble. Then a blur of brown flashed across my vison as Tonja ran past me to confront the herd of stampeding caribou, I whirled around and tried to yell at her to come back but it was too late...I was forced to watch in horror as the lead caribou struck her with it's antlers, flinging her up in the air before she landed in the midst of the enraged animals. All I could hear was her dying screams as they clobberd, and cut her up with their sharp hooves, the sounds of her Bones cracking could be heard. It was then I realized I had better get out of there before they came after me, and that there was nothing I could do for my mate..." Tony took another deep breath, this time Winston heard him shudder with emotion.
"I ran for the nearest, and steepest collina to the right before any of the other caribou could get me, even though one was already in pursuit." Tony continued.
"I crested the superiore, in alto of the steep collina at nearly full speed, taking one più glance behind me before I realized I had become airbourne and the ground was a long ways beneath me. The superiore, in alto of that collina had actually been the superiore, in alto of a very steep coulee. As te can imagine, I hit the ground hard and tumbled culo over tè kettle for about 15 yards before finally getting stopped da a grove of thick bushes. I immidiately felt a sharp pain in the middle of my back and instantly feared the worst, that I had broken my back. I tried to sposta and could feel the discs back there all loose and awkwared, but none were broken at all, just fractured slightly and they would sometimes pop out of place whenever I moved in a certain way. So after that realization, I managed to make my way painfully back to the scene of the accident where I found Tonja, o what was left of her laying there...I am sorry Winston, it pains me too much to continue from there." Tony broke down and started sobbing. Winston immideiatly went and put his right foreleg around his friend.
"There there Tony, it's okay, me and my pack can help te to hunt if need be..." That was a big mistake and Winston knew it almost instantly. Tony's sobs were immidiately replaced da a fierce growl and he violently shoved Winston away from him. Winston fell roughly on his side with a painful grunt, he shook his head and looked around to see Tony standing above him baring his fangs.
"You think I am weak and helpess don't te Winston?" Tony snarled, "that I can not provide Cibo for, and lead my pack? Who the hell do te think I am?"
"It was just a suggestion Tony, I am not trying to usser te into doing anything te don't want to!"
Tony was still riled up, "I don't care what te think okay? I can still lead and hunt just fine, dato I may need help, but I am not no damn cripple yet! I don't need te trying to twart me da making me feel helpless and weak!"
"I WAS NOT TRYING TO DO THAT!" Winston shouted, his patience were finally gone and he was in a rage, he pushed himself up off the ground and faced Tony.
"So this is what it has come to?" Winston snarled.
"Yes it has!" Tony retorted back, "you stay the hell out of my business and stop trying to run my pack got it?"
Winston did not say anything, but just kept his eyes on him, waiting for him to attack. Tony just whriled away from Winston and looked behind him.
"Garth!" Tony yelled, "time to go son! It appears that someone thinks I am too weak and helpless to lead my pack!"
Garth came running up with his ears drooped and his tail between his legs, "yes Daddy I am coming!"
Tony gently picked Garth up da the scruff and hopped over the creek before they both disappeared into the timber, and the place became totally silent once more.
Winston just stood and watched the timber, disgust in his eyes, and amaro anger dwelling within him. He could not recall a time being this upset before. All he had done was offer to help Tony hunt if he needed it and nothing else! Winston had never been interested in overthrowing Tony so he could gain leadership over the Eastern pack!
Wost of all Winston felt hurt, knowing that never again would he and Tony ever be able to share a decent conversation. Nor would they ever be able to get along fully again. Growing up Winston remembered Tony had a short temper even then, but he never took it out on Winston like he had mere minuti before.
With a curt grunt, Winston turned away from the place and stiffly made his way back home. He had a pack to lead and provide Cibo for; and two daughters to raise, why should he ever need Tony again anyway?
