Well, I don't hate him, but I don't love him...... I was never really a big fan of him...

I wouldn't say I hate him, but I don't have a big love for him obviously, as an E/C shipper.

I don't hate him, but I don't like him either. I'm an E/C shipper all the way.

Of course as an E/C shipper, I went through the face of Raoul hatred but it lasted only a year or so. Then I started to like him for comical purposes. I do respect his character to a far extent, of course, but I like to poke fun of his Prince Brave Charming-ness and his somewhat dimwitted behaviour in the film.

I HATE RAOUL HE STOLE CHRISTINE FROM THE PHANTOM!

Erm, excuse me? Who had stolen whom from whom? Who took her from a man, whom she loved even before she met the Phantom and who was engaged to? Who kidnapped her? Who had she CHOSEN to be with when Phantom told her she's not FORCED to stay with him? Have I misunderstood something?

Ok. Roul knew Christine as a little kid. Her father died so she moved to the opera house. Here was the phantom. He "trained" her in music and as he did so he fell in love. She would have went for the phantom if Roul had not shown up. And he did not kidnap her. She went willingly. She even tried to hide her engagement to Roul from the phantom sooooo she must have felt something enough for te phantom to feel the need to hide it. And just because u know some one as a kid don't mean u know them 10 years later.
Plus roul wanted to take her away from her home and "family". How much of a lover is that?
And did u see the kiss at the end? That was more then a spark and a half. The phantom saw in that momment that he did not want to trap Christine to the same fate he had so he let her go! And in the end he STILL LOVED HER!!!

I sure hate him alright he stole Christine from the Phantom and it was easy to tell that love wouldn't have been very far away!!!

I don´t love him, but there was not like button. He tried to protect Christine from abuser. He stole nothing, Christine is not thing.

i just hated him through the whole thing. i mean even after he heard about the phantom's horrible childhood, he still wanted to kill him. What a cold person.

Why does everyone hate Raoul so much? Without Raoul there is no story.. He. Loves. Christine... simple really..
As for the argument of you don't know someone after 10 years... from my understanding Christine is meant to be about 18.. now in Little Lotte Raoul says "I was just fourteen and soaked to the skin" now they spent time after that, that was their meeting.. and I would think in the times we aren't seeing them on stage I think they properly would have spent time together as well..
But I'm not saying I hate Phantom, I love Phantom I want him to have the girl and I think that he properly deserves her more than Raoul simply because Raoul can have anyone..
But Raoul loves Christine and he does everything he can to protect her, she is scared of the Phantom and she does need him to..
Raoul didn't steal.. He had her first, and the Phantom did manipulate her, made her believe he was something he wasn't.. really no one stole her.. People can't be stolen like that, she chose.

it actually depends on what Raoul now Hadley fraser's Raoul oh man i love him but Patrick (don't know his last name and dont care) he is the one i can't stand

I've hated him right from the beginning so couldn't give a toss about the idiot and wish there's a way to reinvent the character into a nicer person as to me he's just a plain dick.
