How to get money on Animal Crossing: Lets go to the City????

OK, I've played on AC: Wild World, and I've got loads of money, and all the foreign fruit, etc. but on the wii I've got hardly anything!
I can't use wi-fi o anything to go to other people's towns to get foreign fruit, and I'm stuck!!!
Please help :(
