Not the lista of the most popolare o most technically sound but my personal and very biased lista of Anime that I loved watching and will continue to enjoy watching for years to come. That's right the very definition of favorite. Sadly this means I can't name them all (BUT I STILL Amore te MY ANIME) and of course there is the very real possibility of me watching an Anime that knock the others down a notch but here, as of this moment, are my superiore, in alto 20 so I hope te enjoy!

{Number 20} K project

I would like to start this lista da saying I enjoy shows with powers.... because I do. K project has an especially interesting power system. 7 kings give their power to clan members and are powerful themselves but when the kings overuse their own power a sword falls and kills them. OHMYGOOMIES guys the story of Damocles was inspiration for the power system and it made me Amore this concept already. With a little mystery, action, gorgeous looking art and animazione and I was sold. I have so much fun with this series and it's characters who are dorks.

{Number 19} Katekyo hitman reborn

This is an Anime where I Amore the entire cast. They're all dorks. Tsuna is also one of the first characters who made me realize I like scaredy Gatti who will still do what's right when the time comes and that's what really makes someone brave. I also like how he doesn't radically change over the series in terms of personality. He's still crying how he doesn't want to be a mafia boss, still willing to take a shortcut but the mostra intended più for him and the audience to realize that this Tsuna does have great things about him as is. Amore the humor, action, and above all the characters.

{Number 18} Honey and clover

Honey and Clover cemented for me what a perfect slice of life is. All the drama comes from very real problems people face in life, falling in love, being rejected, having a goal that te want to achieve più than anything, o being totally Lost in life, having fun and going through pain, the joy of things going your way o the despair when it all falls apart. The art is also soft and soothing, one of my favorites. And it all comes from watching a band of Friends go through life and it's challenges.

{Number 17} Case closed

te got to have at least a small amount of Amore for the series if te catch up with the 800+ episodes, ovas, spin off series, specials and 20 movies. Thank goodness I do. I Amore mystery and even though I know it there are different types this is the type of mystery that always appealed to me, a body, clues and the ingenuity of the detective. There's always something interesting o a new tidbit to learn in each episode. The whole mostra screams 90's which I love! The art, the music, the archetypes the characters follow and good old fashioned detective work.

{Number 16} Arakawa under the bridge

I was kind of depressed when I ran into Arakawa under the bridge and it was such a nice break from reality; laugh out loud hilarious with dorky characters, a little romance and an honestly touching character arc for Recruit. Their antics just make me laugh too hard, their cute romance makes me too happy, and I am complessivamente, generale too in Amore with this anime.

{Number 15} Prince of tennis + New prince of tennis

Prince of tennis was one of the first sports manga I read and I loved it from the start. The Anime is basically the same story. All the characters were great and the matches exciting. There's a good mix of filler to tennis matches so the mostra doesn't seem bogged down with useless episodes o relentless with matches being played. The cast is really what makes this series though so even filler episodes are a joy to watch. They're all pretty great and I Amore seeing them interact off each other in whatever situation. I believe it's virtually impossible not to Amore at least a handful of them. It has this amazing 2000's vintage look that i adore. The tennis aspect is about 90% believable for the first halfish of the series and totally overblown da the end that it involves zombie pirates stabbing other team members o killing the dinosauri (i'm not kidding). either way is great and it's a series that I enjoy everything, characters, slow moments, exciting matches and the camaraderie.

{Number 14} Code: breaker

This Anime actually gave me such a bad impression at first to be honest. It was appealing to me because promised super powers, assassin-ish type activity, and a character who had no problem killing te on the spot.... what's not to love? but unfortunately it also featured a secondary main character who i won't vent on for times sake. I wanted to drop it right away. It may sound like I'm being too harsh on her and I might be since while da the end of the series I still hate her I also somewhat respect her. The main character Ogami is an assassin for the government who happens to meet high school girl Sakura while he's on a job.... like legit killing people ATM, and he tries to eliminate her as a witness only to be surprised when his powers don't work on her. So he enrolls into her school to keep an eye on her. First thing she does is yell at him that he can't kill people.....a good sentiment to have but was shouted at a guy who she doesn't know and should probably be calling the cops against before giving him a morality lesson since she already knows he has no problem killing of people... since she fricking saw him do it. During the series she really does not much else but shout this moral at him on his missions he didn't invite her to while he gladly ignores her......why? but looking past this, as a character she learns to think più complexly at these morals she holds while still maintaining that killing is wrong which I would usually respect if she wasn't so uselessly annoying. So yeah I would be less harsh on her if her intro was smoother and her involvement better explained. Now that the bashing of her is over I guess I really enjoyed the super powers, grey morality, action, and the main character Ogami even if my emotions can get derailed da my emotions of the other main. The whole Code assassin thing appeals to me and even though their screen time isn't large the other code's are likable for the most part and it's interesting to see certain motivations for some people becoming codes.(this Anime is my problem child)

{Number 13} Noragami

This Anime is what sold me on the fact that Bones and power Anime go well together, gorgeously animated with action, and an in depth world of the gods intrigues me about this series. Everything about this other world is so well explained and visually stunning. I ADORE world building and things dealing with deities since there's so much to work with morality wise. I also really Amore that most Anime is scared to let their mains make mistakes too big lest they lose the audiences sympathies but when the characters go through trials they fall and fail hard and the Anime still sees them as worth saving (Yukine <3) I came for the comedy and world building and was caught in an emotional storm which was effectively and beautifully done!

{Number 12} Gilgamesh

It's hard to pinpoint what exactly makes me like this Anime over similar anime. It has a Gothic style which at times works with it's dark atmosphere and other time makes the characters look like the pepe meme frog, It deals with what else but the dark future of earth. Years before a scientist knowingly caused the world to fall into shambles and now his children have to pay the consequences of the reputation he left behind along with the debt collectors of their mother. They're running from detto debt collectors when they run into monsters, super powered humans and eventually the Countess (i hate her with a passion) who takes them in so that they can fight against the monsters who want to fulfill their father's dream of ending the world. It's so strange, there's very little action, o clashes between the two, mostly dealing with the children and living with the countess. The tone is very dark and bleak, the Musica barely playing a hand in anything, and it's very hard to lay much importance on the big picture. The focus is mostly on the idea of loyalty and alliance, exploring motivations o lack of. It's interesting to see Kiyoko especially since she's the most neutral player in this whole thing and just wants to scratch a living for herself away from the parents she hates and the countess who only cares for her brother but it's nearly impossible with the world the way it is. Yet I just really enjoyed this anime.... hmm, maybe I'll figure out why later.

{Number 11} Princess Jellyfish

I adore this anime. It's funny, colorful, with wacky characters who Amore what they do with their whole hearts. I really relate to these oddballs who Amore their hobbies with a passion and i admire them too for that passion. Tsukimi is a lover of jellyfish and her interest is infectious. The journey she goes through is trying to share her passion instead of hiding it Something inspiring and hilarious to watch.

{Number 10} Casshern sins

Casshern sins is one of the most gorgeous Anime I have seen. Following on an episodic pattern as Casshern walks through the world he destroyed when he killed Luna and brought forth the a disease which rusts robots and kills them. Their only hope of salvation is to eat Casshern. This series is constantly about learning the value of life through death so as te can guess it's depressing! (but i live for this stuff so....) But it's also fascinating to see the robots who genuinely take the value of life to cuore o let their goals twist them o panic devour them. I'm still thinking about the moral we were supposed to learn but I'm not sure, and I think that's a good sign if I'm still sitting here wondering.

{Number 9} Deadman wonderland

Ganta makes this series for me. Sure the animation, voice recitazione (in english), and twists are spectacular but I have always admired how realistic and admirable Ganta is. He's scared (understandable since he saw his whole classs murdered and then thrown in a hell hole for a crime he didn't commit), he makes mistakes, his attribute to lash out treated as both a strength as he says some things that are spot on and inspiring, and a flaw as he says things that hurt the people around him and are bitter. He's also allowed to realize that his mistakes were mistakes and wonder if this is really who he wants to be. He walks through a crazy world and while eager to survive is also eager to keep his humanity. This Anime allows him to fall, fail, rise, grow. Everything a character should do. And I Amore this Anime and him for it.

{Number 8} Mushishi

Mushishi is probably as perfect as an episodic series can get. Everything is like an experience, with it's own asthetic, pacing, and emotions it leaves te with. It's simple art enhanced with amazing animazione so that everything seems alive. I've detto it before but even the Musica just works with everything to give everything this slow flow as wonders unfold before your eyes. I don't know I just find it hard to explain what makes Mushishi so great BECAUSE it's an experience.

{Number 7} Gintama

Ah Gintama, dirty jokes, great characters, surprisingly touching stories, makes me laugh, makes me cry, gintama. wonderful lady cast with amazing arcs and development, gintama. admirable main cast with the friendship of the ages, gintama. making me cry for characters who i was side eyeing secondi ago, gintama.....

Also the mayo prince

{Number 6} Rokka no yuusha

This series blends some of my preferito genres into a 12 episode mystery that was a blast to go through. Low and behold there will be six Heroes to save the world.... so why are there seven of them on the island? I Amore how each time the Adlet (our mc) presents a possible solution to the problem their faced with the Scrivere uses it to reveal what types of thinker the character talking is, while also world building, while also throwing in some beautiful action. I just can't say enough to how much I admire it for pulling all this off while staying in one location. Kudos to the cast to who are fun to hang with but would have been più fun if there was a secondo season (COUGH COUGH) But for what we got I thoroughly enjoyed this series

.
{Number 5} Death parade

Death parade has a Supernatural ethics battle going on in every episode and I Amore that. Each time te were introduced to people and seen how far they were willing to go to live, and funnily enough the mostra accepts them like that. The idea that humans can be dark, can attraversare, croce that line and even domande whether it's the right thing to condemn them for falling of an edge. There's also the value of life to consider and what is the right "judgment, and playing with the human ability to empathize. I don't think it always completed the domande it brought up but for what it did it was a mind teaser and emotional roller coaster.

{Number 4} Naoki Urusawa's monster

A how to on keeping tension within a series and a villain with no apparent reason for being evil except he was born that way. This series is so amazing. I Amore all the mains (Tenma/Johan/Anna o Nina) and this super intense anime. I mean te could cut the tension with a knife. I admire Tenma, adore Nina/Anna, and was always interested in following the story as it came in bits and pieces of the monster called Johan.

{Number 3} Zankyou no Terror

ZNT is part of the reason I'm worried in my taste in Anime since the protagonists are terrorists. There are some pretty glaring faults in character development and plot but it's easy for me to ignore this because this mostra had me trapped and engrossed within the entirety of it's short run. It managed to deliver interesting characters, a pace where I always felt there was something at stake and when there was a quiet moment it was just felt calming due to a gorgeous soundtrack, leading to some pretty memorable scenes, most notably the bike ride where 12 steals Lisa away. I just fell in Amore with this series and haven't fallen out of Amore with it. Gorgeous animation, gorgeous soundtrack, and just a great experience overall.

{Number 2} Darker than Black: Season 1 + OVA's

Darker than black is something that still puzzles me. On one hand, it's freaking great. On the other it's flaws at the end of the series do bug me. Like the lack of explaining when it comes to Garfields and syndicates and why the heck emotionless rational beings are too dependent on their powers (maybe they conclude it's easier but their powers aren't the solution for everything and rational beings would know that). But it makes up for those flaws da being an complessivamente, generale good series, mostly made up of 2 episode arcs that don't really mean complessivamente, generale plot until it smacks te in the face in the last episodes. Each arc however is so freaking interesting, with tiny bits of world building and slowly giving te an idea of who Hei is stuck in between. It introduces te to some pretty cool characters (November 11 wins everything), an interesting world to be in, and the arcs are so self contained. It has a sense of importance whenever te learn about these one arc characters and how they survive in this world, either struggling to find their humanity o accepting themselves as who they are now. I'm not a fan of the secondo season but I am a fan of the OVA's since they introduce me to another freaking cool contractor. (Shichi/Claude)

{Number 1} Code Geass

Code Geass was my gateway anime. Well technically that random episode of Bleach was but my friend tends to sway to whatever she's in the mood for and so she put the first episode of Code Geass on in the background when we were hanging out at her house and from there I was hooked. The animazione was good, the characters great, the pacing addictive, and complessivamente, generale a fun Anime to watch. With an anti-hero as the lead it delved into grey morality and had a large cast, all with different values without especially condemning one except for the antagonist. They try to flesh out the characters as much as possible, and even if some do get a bit Lost since the cast is pretty large, it's easy to get attached to them so when the Anime pulls out the violins te genuinely feel for their struggles o tragedy. This Anime has a great mix of about everything, there's mind games and tactics, mecha action, romance, drama, politics, family, morality, and heck te even get a bit of school life. This makes it for me a prefect Anime since I can pop it in at any time and get Lost in it while finding something new to appreciate about it every time. I loved it from the start and that hasn't changed in the 7ish years I've watched anime. Nothing has come to take it's first place trono and I don't think anything ever will.

So here's my lista of faves! What are some of yours?
