No, but only because I'm pretty rigid in my beliefs of what makes an anime. However, the characters do look like anime characters in the cut scenes and the soundtracks are very similar to anime OSTs. Or are you talking about the series of Final Fantasy (Advent Children, Unlimited, Denzel and Last Order)?

Advent Children I guess but mainly the whole franchise I think fits into the category of anime even though of course it is a game also. See, the trick question here is... not what it is, but what do I think? I think most people think of it as fitting into anime category. Or some people might not think of it like that even though it is probably categorized like that. Because anime = animation, so even the 3d animated action movie would be ... yep! XD

Final Fantasy is a game. Anime is a term applied to animated Japanese TV shows. Games are not TV shows, so by pure definition Final Fantasy can't be anime.

Even though the two have similar themes and styles, and I do think there's been anime based in the Final Fantasy universes, the franchise itself isn't an anime franchise. This is because the franchise is made up almost entirely of video games and not of animated television shows.

It'd be like saying that Tomb Raider is a movie franchise. Sure, there's a tomb raider movie, but the brunt of the franchise is on the games.
