te are walking da yourself to the Prancing pony when someone bumps into you. te twisted your ankle and fell, the fall was much harder than te thought it would be. A strong hand assists you. te take it and look into the eyes of the stranger. "Do te need help walking?" he asks. "Yes. Would te mind helping me?" He puts an arm around your waist and takes te to the inn.
When te get there he rests te in a chair and elevates your leg. "Is it broken?" te ask, a little nervous that a stranger is helping you. "No, but maybe sprained." He puts some cloth on your ankle and tightens it for support. "Do te want to lie down?" he asks. "Yes. I think that that would help."
He carries to a room and lies te down. He starts to leave, and te tell him thanks you. He smiles at te and continues his way downstairs.
te woke up after a night of heavy sleeping. te try to move, but your ankle is so stiff that te can't. te think about the stranger that helped te last night and wonder if he is still here. As if to answer your thoughts, he enters in your room. "How did te sleep?" he asks. "Very well." te tell him, streching. "Good, maybe I can get te to your home sooner than expected." "I detto I slept well, not that I can sposta my leg." He takes no offense to your rudeness, but forgives te and brings te breakfast.
te eat slowly and when te are done te say, "I'm sorry for what I said. It's just... I don't know you, and I'm a little nervous about you. Who are you?" "I am called Strider. And who are you?" "I am _."
After that te just stare into thin air unaware that he is staring at you. "Well," he says suddenly, "I will be downstairs. If te need me, just yell. I'm bound to hear you." te both laugh and are once again left alone.
About a week went da and Strider came to visit te ever giorno (to bring up your meals, see how te were doing, he might be a Ranger, but he's very kind). One day, he tells te that he's going to take te to Rivendell if te can sit on a horse. te tell him that te can sit up on the edge of your bed, but that's as far as you've got. He tells te that te should be alright, and that you'll set out tomorrow morning. You're kinda excited to see Elves for the first time and to know that this good-looking man called Strider will be escorting you.
The successivo morning te wake up and are excited for the days that are to come. te attempt to walk and realize that te can't because of your limp leg. Fortunately, he arives in time to help. "Here," he says as he carrys te down the stairs and to the stable. "Comfortable?" he asks. "As comfortable as I can be on a horse with a bad ankle." te share one più laugh before setting out for Rivendell.
"Five days," te thought, "five days since we set out on this journey. I'm tired and sore. Why did I leave home in the first place?"
"Good morning, Cheerful _," Strider joked. It took te both a while to get used to each other's sense of humor, even though it was quite similar. He gave te some Cibo that you've never seen before (though it was delicious) and got ready to face another long giorno traveling.
"This should be our last giorno of traveling before we reach Rivendell," he tells you.
"That's a relief," te say.
"Why is that?" he asks.
"I'm getting tired of riding," te tell him. "But on the other hand, I like riding with you."
te both smile and continue on your way.
te finally arrive at Rivendell and te are both più than relieved. te are introduced to Elrond and he finds a place for te to rest. After a while, Strider comes to visit te and te both talk about your past, your family, your life long ago... basically everything that te were never able to talk about before. When te first met him, he seemed cold, and quite heartless, but te realize that te were wrong, and see that he has quite a big heart, and is very understanding.
