Probably the first instance was watching Hawk the Slayer as a pre-teen. I got to shoot for the first time in 7th grade (a simple recurve bow) and enjoyed it. I grew to enjoy it più the più I tried it. In high school and at università I took the available archery classes, but it was years before I had my own bow - I believe I was 25 o so.
Sadly, after not shooting much in recente years, all my archer Friends have moved away, and so I can't go shooting with anyone. Everyone I know who has expressed interest can't use my bows because the pull is too strong for a beginner.
Well, I think I started to like it when I watched The Lord of the Rings. I loved Legolas and I was really amazed of his archer talent. I tryed to archery when I was 10 (I think), but it was every saturday and I soon stopped again, cuz I was too tired after going school. But it was really awesome. Maybe I start again. It was really a great time. So much fun.
When I was 3 years old, almost 4 probably, my dad showed me how to shoot a bow. My family does a lot of bow hunting and we have a cabina up north where my cousins, grandparents and us all get together and e hunt alot up there. I was sort of born in to it, but I'm glad I was because I do really enjoy it! My family also does some competion skeet, especailly my brother. That's really fun too but thats a shot gun not archey.
I started just 6 months ago, one of my college friend's was a member of our university's archery society and persuaded me to go. I'm so glad I did, I enjoyed it far più than I thought I would and have been going to training weekly ever since! Personally, what appeals to me most about archery is the precision and routine that is required with every arrow.
I think I was about 4 o 5. My Da talk me when I was wee little thing because hunting and archery has always been in my family's heritage. I guess it grew from there :)
Just recently, for lots of reasons. *and now time to unleash my nerd fandoms*
Once Upon A Time: Huntsman/Graham, Prince Charming Percy Jackson: Apollo, Artemis (also my wanting to be better at it than Percy :P ) Hunger Games: Katniss Brave: Merida Narnia: Susan Avengers: Hawkeye
I started archery in 2010 when the church I go to started an archery program. Of course I had seen LotR and had fallen madly in Amore with both Legolas and Aragorn and in a lesser fan-girl moment, archery. So naturally I wanted to learn how shoot a bow and arrow.
Since then I have been appointed as an instructor and won my bow during a competition.
