I would certainly like to see that. Though, when it comes to Anime Studios, I would especially love to see Avatar getting drawn in Gainax' or Trigger's (Former Gainax members) style. Actually, that was the intention of the Creators during the making of these Series even if it didn't worked out in the end. For example, Neon Genesis Evangelion was a source of inspiration for many aspects of Avatar. Same for Cowboy Bebop which comes from another Studio called Sunrise. Give the later a look and I'm sure you'll notice the similarities in drawing !!!!

I think that it'd be cool as well. Cowboy Bebop has a cool artstyle, I can see a bit of it in Avatar.

I like Studio Ghibli and the animation itself is beautiful to look at but the character designs are just so plain looking. I'm not a big fan of most anime character drawing styles in general but Ghibli's tend to be the textbook definition of plain (With a few RARE exceptions). What is so great about the Avatar art style is how it does have the anime style but also allows the characters to look unique and have enough a good mix of the western art style. Hell, this show is great at mixing styles in general. Azula doesn't look like your typical animated villainess because her features are softer and not so sharp. She looks more like a heroine or even a Disney Princess but also has more of an edge to keep her from looking generic or unconvincing as a villainess.

I really loved that about her character design actually. For a while I thought it was just me who though she had softer features; like in loads of fics I read she's described as having sharp features, I was always under the opposite impression. It's kind of adorable really and a nice change of pace.

I guess when her features are compared to someone like Katara, Ty Lee, or Yue they're sharper but on their own they're pretty soft while still mature looking. Though she definitely has sharp eyes instead of the traditional big eyes round look most of the characters seem to have. When I think of a female character with sharp features on the show I think more of Mai.

I can see that, yes. But without the comparison, like you said, they're pretty soft. I feel like an adult Azula would have sharper features. I think it is her eyes that give her the more mature look though. I also think of Mai as a character with sharp features. I think June too a bit.

I never really cared about the artstyle of Studio Ghibli movies.
