AVRIL Lavigne wants to be the new Madonna and follow her idol da having a career which lasts for decades.
The Canadian singer attracted global attention at just 17 with her 2002 debut album Let Go, which featured hit singles Complicated and Sk8er Boi.
More recently she's taken a four-year break - but now she is back with her fourth album, Goodbye Lullaby, and has set her sights on matching 52-year-old Madonna's career longevity.
