This is from a facebook comment from Kelly Sheridan, posted on the LJ community.

"Over a year ago I received a call notifying me of changes Mattel was making to the entire Barbie brand and that it was going to affect the types of movies they would be making. They wanted to move away from the classic princess stories in an effort focus on something more modern and fashion oriented. While they thanked me for all the work I've done on the past 18 films, I was told that they would be looking for a new voice to match this new direction."

I thought you ought to know.

Good bye, dear Kelly! You was, is and will be the prettiest voice for Barbie ever. But now, after all 17 movies, you will leave us. It's too sad...

Thus marks the end of Barbie movies as we know them. The downfall of the Barbie movies. Maybe I'm being too dramatic, but this is beyond words! Not only that they're cutting Kelly out but getting rid of princess classics! Right out of their own mouths! We've had our suspicions but now they're confirmed.
Goodbye, good Barbie movies. It was nice knowing you.

No! We shouldn't say "Good bye" to her! I know, she'll returns! After Mattel Entertainment bancruptcy, when no one will buy Barbie movies.

Really? I love Kelly! She's an awsome actress but I guess after 18 movies there comes a time for a change...

But I feel that with Kelly gone, the whole Barbie franchise is going to change imensly. *sigh* Goodbye classic Barbie movies...
