Why is it that so many girls want to have sex at a young age?

I totally agree with te there hun,girls are being too pressurised into having sex at such a young age. When you're 14,you're nowhere NEAR mature enough to handle sex and shouldn't do it, instead,you should learn about the risks,and the chances of becoming pregnant. I'm 16 and I'm still a virgin,but I'm not ashamed of it.I'm just waiting for the right guy to come along,and not just sleep with anyone for the heck of it.

I dont know. i think its cuz of the media and stuff that gets people going. they think its cool most probably. and sometimes they are foolish enough to think a guy really means it when he says i Amore u. not all teenage guys dont mean it, but the majority just do it to get in your pants.

and... peer pressure. if u arent sure wat to do, and u're Friends say just do it, i dont think thats good friendship, if they say it just like that without thinking. if my friend asked me if she should id say hell no.

Well, actually, it's not your decision at all. Every invidual decides when they wanna fuck. I started when I was VERY young, because I know it has always been a part of me. That's never been a problem for me. People shouldn't wait if they want to have sex. I feel quite the opposite from you. I feel like people like me are being called 'whores' and 'sluts'. WE are the most vulnerable teens when it comes to bitching. Not that I care because I haven't experienced much of that, but just as te know.

To some degree parents do not teach there children that under age sex is illegal. Girls also dont feel secure enough in who they are to say no when asked da a boy and of course peer pressure. I am not sure I should even be answering this. Let me explain I was told under 16 was illegal so I didnt do it then once I was of an age I could I personnally didnt feel ready so when asked I detto no the result of that even now I do not have a man in my life I have so far NEVER done it and I am 35.

Cause they think it's cool to loose their virginity. They devote their bodies to sex, making them whores. They're just gonna make fools of themselves! It's not cool to be a whore!

Ok, so firstly te detto stated that puberty is a biological change in the body, correct? well I am inclined to disagree, te see it's not only a biological change, there are many other aspects which are involved, such as: emotional change, hormones, even the way te think and percieve things gets altered in the process. Now, since I'm a male (also in my adoloecnece years), I cannot speak on behalf of the feamle gender, however from my understanding, females may have multiple reasons for wanting to fornicate, these include:
1)Peer-preasure-It is a lot più common than people are lead to believe, it may also lead to bullying (cyber-bully is getting out of hand, and people HAVE commited suicide!).
2)Hormones - Now this is also not uncommon, since we are all different, some females may expeirence più of a sex-drive than others, I for one, am NOT urging to loose my virginity yet.
3)The idea of feeling mature/grown-up - Now, can te recall your past? when te were a child, how te always wanted to be taller,smarter, and be allowed to go and do whatever te wanted, this is similar! te see, teenager still urge to grow-up to feel più empowered and free!
4)Trying something new - when your a teenager, many new paths open up to you, te gain più freedom, te can 'hangout' longer, and so on. however some take it a too far! examples: Drinking, Smoking, Drugs, and Have sexual intercourses. It really a mistake that is made constantly, I observed so many other teenagers loose to the addictions of drugs and alcohol, it's really sad, this changes their personalities and how the percieve the world to be.
Final Point) Todays sociaty! - I really hate the world in which we live in, the media and how people percieve the world to be! The media is much to blame here! They pubblicità their products, not considering how it will be taken and da whoem! That is why kids grow up, thinking about "when will I have my first sex", They begin to believe if the other partner won't have sex with them, that they don't Amore you, which will lead to: black-mailing, rape(rare cases) o pear-pressure.

Because they think it's "cool" to say "i've Lost my virginity" when really it's just pathetic. I'm 16 and i'm still a virgin, i've been pressured many of times to do it but i've always detto no because i want to wait till i am older and i want to wait for the right guy to come along. It seems like some sorta competition with young teenagers to who looses their virginity first. Personally, I don't get it, i'm 16 and i still don't think i'm ready to do it yet. I at least want to be 18 before i first do it.

It's because they're young and naive. They listen to all the news about this girl having sex with this guy, and they think "Well, if I can seduce this super hot guy in school, it'll be the highlight of my life." Once puberty hits, the mesmerizing dreams of having sex for the first time overwhelms many teenage girls' minds. I'm 15, never kissed a guy, and I'm still a virgin, and frankly, I'm very proud of it. I even wear a purity ring. They just need to grow up.

I totally agree with you. Just because te are phisacly able to carry a baby, it doesn't mean te are meantly ready. I think it is because there are so many libri and Film about young girls having sex that, when girls read them and like the book, they may want to be like the book? And sometimes there are people teasing them(like te said)about still being a virgin. What girls who are being teased dont know though, is that the girl who is teasing you, is most likely a virgin and trying to hide it da teasing somone els.

There's a lot of reasons: Being naive, careless, peer pressure, the media too I believe, and parents. It's outrageous.

I believe that losing your virginity is any girl's choice; if they know what they're doing (being careful about STD's o pregnancy, really sure it's what they want), then I think they have the right to have sex once they become teenagers. (Before teenage years is a little too young in my opinion...) It's their choice.

What I don't like is how society pressures girls to lose their virginity. What's so terribly wrong about it? I really think that society should change this, just have a girl's virginity/sex life be her own damn business. I think many girls are being pressured into losing it early to seem with the crowd, and your virginity isn't really something te can get back. People talk about renewed virginity...bah. I really don't think te can renew virginity. te can't bring that innocence back. Though people make that innocence out to be stupid and uncool, I think it's something special and to be treasured until a girl is ready to give it away. Obviously I would prefer if it would be to someone she deeply cared about, and she knew she was making the right decision and wouldn't regret it later...but hey, if she just wanted to shag, I can't judge...her choice.

Anyway, I feel te may be looking into this too much. I get what you're saying, but at the same time, 14 years old is old enough to know the consequences and results of just having sex 'JUST BECAUSE'. I started at 14 as well, but it wasn't because someone pressured me into it, it was because I felt I was ready. Its not about standards o whats LEGAL. On that note I have to say that whatever state tells a girl, o boy, that its illegal for them to do what they want with their bodies...well, I sure would protest to the ends of time for that one.

Why does someone have to be a certain age to have sex? It seems to me that te are molded to the laws that others have created.
Before all this mess you're talking about, about age, woman had sex WHETHER THEY LIKED IT o NOT, as young as 12...had children too. Now women have a choice in the matter and they slap them with age laws.
Now, I can see your point to a degree, like teen pregnancy and peer pressure (never understood that) but again that brings me back to: If they are old enough to think they are ready for sex and NOT know that sex leads to children, and don't take proper precautions, (STDs and HIV too) then that's on them. It should be their choice.

peer pressure, bodily desire, rush to be in a relationship, the lista can go on depending on the individual. its usually a peer pressure, as te detto being in your late teens and being a virgin is 'weird' o not that common now a days. its sad really.....

I believe consensual sex is never wrong o bad o shameful as long as te are ready to have a baby with that person.

It's a difficult issue and I'd do my best to try to avoid sounding patronising o narrow-minded.

Firstly, I believe that the only sensible reason for having sex is because the person in domanda wants to. It may be considered egoistical, but it's too important a thing to be taken lightly i.e. having sex because everybody does o your significant other is impatient and pressures te into it. Everyone in your class/school/whatever has sex. So what? If they decided to jump out of 10th floor would te unisciti them, too?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that teenegers shouldn't have sex. They may, just like everybody, provided they:
1. Want to.
2. Are aware of the risks and know how to protect themselves.
3. Are mature enough to realise what they're about to do and what various consequences might be and still want to do it.

That's all it takes, really.

I'm aware that it impossible to draw a line and say: From this age onward you're allowed to have sex. Such laws will always be slightly out-of-touch with reality. However that doesn't mean they should be abandond, quite the opposite - they're important at least because they enable to distinguish between sex and paedophilia. I think the best age to draw such a line would be something around 16, but I'm not an expert on emotional development, so it's only a personal opinion. I find it hard to imagine that a 13 o 14 anno old person may be ready to have sex, but there probably are situations where it happens.

These are strange times we live in, on one side we have religious fundamentalists saying that anything other than marital sex "undertaken" in order to have kids is pure evil, and on the other overly sexualised media selling the impression that if te don't have frequent sex before te graduate from high school you're a looser. Sadly, there seems to be little room for middle ground.

It also irritates me that there are only a few "patterns" to be followed and when somebody doesn't want to fit into a narrow category they're seen as weird. I'm talking for example about people, whether they identify as asexual o not, who don't want to have sex for reasons other than religious visualizzazioni and don't want to be seen as zealots o people who enjoy sex and don't want to be called sluts.

Because that's the way nature works. Regardless of whether it's okay to do it o not in the industrial world we've made for ourselves, humans have evolved to live in nature for much longer than the industrial world has been around.
