is big on superheroes fighting superheroes (it\'s all in the name). But what the new trailer was lacking was any sort of villain who could potentially reconcile Iron Man and Captain America for the film\'s big finale.
The original comic books offer no real clue – with a cast of hundreds caught up in so many twists that Marvel could never hope to squeeze it into a two-hour movie. But maybe, just maybe, there was a villain to be seen and we just didn\'t recognise him. Step forward, Bucky.
Our theory: that Captain America\'s old pal and one-time Winter Soldier is working against the Avengers from the inside. One thing the
series wasn\'t short on was betrayals, so it would be following a fine tradition.
The trailer revealed that the centre of the Civil War is Cap\'s decision to protect his old friend – the old friend who at the end of the previous
film supposedly \'broke\' his Hydra brainwashing, suckering in soft-hearted Steve with a bit of guff about their childhood.

But what if he didn\'t? Maybe his apparent defection was part of Hydra\'s failsafe plan, just in case their big SHIELD coup went tits up (as it did in
). And now Bucky is at the heart of the Avengers and they\'re tearing themselves apart. Could be more than a coincidence.
It seems a bit naïve to expect Bucky to overcome years of torture and mind control just like that. The things he\'s done and had done to him would likely leave him with severe PTSD, and who could blame him for being upset about Cap leaving him for dead? Turning Cap against his friends would be a fitting revenge.
Hydra has a confirmed presence in the film, with Frank Grillo back as SHIELD turncoat Crossbones, and Daniel Brühl playing Baron Helmut Zemo, a character with links to the criminal organisation in the comics. Maybe it has a bigger presence than we expected? Cap had better watch out.
