However, as to why most people can't name cat breeds like they can dog breeds, I have a guess as to why; Gatti look più similar to each other then Cani do.
Sure, the difference between a Sphynx and a Persian is obviously, but the difference between a lot of other Gatti aren't quite as obviously as the above example o dogs, o at least on first glance it's not.
With dogs, te have the tiny chihuahua to the huge great dane that have over 100 pounds in difference. But with cats, there's only probably around ten to twenty pounds in difference with the average small cat to the average big cat.
And it can't be because people don't like cats, the cat is either the most kept pet o the secondo most (can't remember which).
So, yeah....I think it's because of how similar most Gatti look to each other compare to dogs.
(Also, I know this domanda didn't bring up Cani at all, I just wanted...needed a comparison to make my point.)
