It had been a couple of weeks since I started college. There was one particular classmate that I didn't like. His name was Mark. He was two-faced. He was a liar. Yet, he pretended to be as good as gold. Simon and I were the only ones to pick up on that. After class was over, Simon and I discussed the matter. Simon said, "I think te need to let them figure it out on their own." I said, "I must warn them. It's the right thing to do." Simon said, "That's true." Some of our classmates stopped to talk to us. I said, "There's something I have to tell you." They asked, "What is it, Anthony?" I said,...

The successivo morning, my mom came into my bedroom and gently woke me. She said, "Turn on the light. I have a surprise for you." I said, "Really?" I reached my light switch and turned on the light. She said, "Anthony, I want te to have this." It was a camicia signed da John Lennon. I said, "But this is yours." She said, "I know, but it doesn't fit me anymore." I asked, "How did te get this one, anyway?" She said, "Well, I saw The Beatles in concerto sometime before they stopped touring. I never planned on meeting any of them. I never intended on meeting my preferito celebritàs because I feared that...

It was the giorno before my first giorno of college. I was making my preparations. I had decided to major in Musica and become a musician. I had finished packing my materials, and I was playing my guitar. My dad came in. "All right, Anthony," he said, "what do te think you're doing?" I said, "And that's supposed to mean..." He said, "You've been playing your chitarra for over an ora now." I said, "And..." He said, "And I decided to talk to te about your choice of major." I said, "Okay." He said, "Now, you're majoring in music. Why?" I said, "I want be be a rock artist." He asked, "You call this music?...

It was September 2003. I was packing up my supplies for my first giorno of high school, which was the successivo day. I was dreading the successivo giorno because Terra was going to be attending the same school, Fairfax High School. I really had my hopes up when I thought that I would start high school with her as my girlfriend. She dumped me for Jake Shepherd, the bad boy. He’s a bully, a jerk wad, and a lot of other things that shouldn’t be said. On the radio, “Scar Tissue” da Red Hot Chili Peppers was playing. Suddenly, I heard my father calling. “John Anthony Smart,” he barked. “Get your butt...

Anthony finished telling his story. Simon said, "You should write a book, Anthony." Anthony said, "Really?" Simon said, "Yeah. I bet it would be a best seller!" Anthony said, "No." The two talked about the great times they had through high school and where they were at that point. Grace then said, "I don't know what will happen to te in the years to come, but I hope that te two will still be the best of friends." Anthony said, "I think so." Simon said, "I think so, too." Anthony said, "Come on! Let's go sing some karaoke before we turn in, buddy!" Simon said, "Right behind you, my main man!" Grace smiled. "Simon and Anthony," she said, "Best Friends 'til death do them part."
Anthony's Story Part 2
Kindergarten and third grade were the crappiest school years in Montana. In Kindergarten, not only was I bullied. I also learned that I have Asperger's syndrome. Before I got Killer, my mom noticed that something wasn't right with me. She took me to a specialist who could help. She asked me a series of words from different grades of vocabulary. It wasn't until we got to eighth grade vocabulary that I struggled. She turned to my parents and asked, "Where did he get this big vocabulary?" My dad said, "Not from us." She then gave some number patterns, and I was able to repeat...

Alan's Story
I remember the fact that Anthony had the loudest laugh of any baby. One day, I fell down the stairs, and he laughed out loud. I knew that he was a baby and didn't know any better. I said, "I'm glad te think that's so funny!" He continued to laugh. Back then, he went da John. Adam walked in and asked, "What's John laughing at?" I said, "I fell down the stairs." Adam said, "The kid's right. It IS funny." I said, "No, it is not!" He said, "You're smiling." I said, "Okay, so it's a little funny." Just then, Mom walked in. She asked, "What's so funny?" Adam and I both said, "Nothing."...

Anthony's Story Part 1
I remember the giorno I started kindergarten. I was a little nervous about going. My parents made me go anyway. "Go to school," they said. "It'll be fun," they said. I went in for the first day. There was a kid in my class who briefly played with me at recess. I don't remember his name. He admired my honesty. Since I was little, I was known for being honest, but sometimes, I was too honest. At one point, the kid got mad at a classmate. I asked, "Did te know that your mouth gets small when te get mad?" I crossed a line. I allowed my brutal honesty to get in the way. He found...

Grace's Story
It was June 25, 1989. I was in the hospital in Bozeman, Montana. I had dato birth to my third child. However, something was wrong. He was barely alive. After one air shot, he was breathing. I cried tears of joy over my miracle baby. For hours, John and I argued over the name. Finally, I came up with a compromise. I said, "John Anthony Smart." John agreed. I named him after his father, John, and his uncle, Anthony. From the moment I brought him home, I noticed that he was different from Alan and Adam. Anthony was a very mellow baby. He only woke me up once a night. Otherwise, he...
