The older I get, the more I like to give presents. But it's still selfish: I vastly prefer to be there to see the recipient open them than not. Not because I want credit, but because I get a kick out of the pleasure that others (hopefully) get when discovering the gift for the first time...

Thats like me.....i love seeing my kids faces when they open their presents :) Nothin beats that!

I always feel like I have to pay people back when I get presents...

I'm not going to lie, I love to receive gifts. But I also love shopping for other people. Especially people who have already given me so much.

It depends on who it is for or from for me, I find kids are always more fun to give and receive, they always react to a given present and it puts a smile on your face, but when you receive something, especially something they made themself, it makes you feel happy that they cared enough to really try and make something they thought you'd like.

As for adults, I like giving presents to people I like, but I prefer the small things as presents, I'm not a huge fan of giving presents on a certain day, share the wealth throughout the year I say :)

For it is better to give then it is to recieve.

Though I do very much love shopping for Christmas presents and seeing their faces when they open it. :o)

I love to both give and receive on christmas.

In Sweden, only Children get presents, and family elders. (For the most part, sometimes there are token gifts for the adults) To me, Jul has always been about the kids, and I looooove shopping for them ;)

I really love wrapping presents, choosing the paper and ribbons etc, but i'm not gonna lie i don't wake up on Christmas morning thinking oh i hope everyone likes the presents i got them, i wake up thinking :D presents, mine all mine!!!!

I love shopping for my friends and family's gifts because I like to think they will TOTALLY love them. But buying presents for people I don't know very well, nah.

presents in general are just so much fun!!!

(besides, when I recieve presents it's really nice that someone thought of me, but I don't really need anything that I don't already have. So I'd rather give.)

Im tellin the truth. i love giving people presents! i do the angle tree all the time when i was 3 i said i want to give all of my christmas presents to the needy! but i didnt my mom stopped me

giving really thoughtful gifts is one of my favourite things, but sometimes someone really wows you with an amazing gift.. so yeah, i do think it depends on the circumstances. but if i had to choose, i'd say giving :)

It just depends... I'll get more joy out of giving someone an iPod than I will if I was to receive a pencil back.... Actually, I'd be a little bit gutted if that happened!

I love it when other people get that look on their face. That "yes!" look and then they give you a hug. It rocks.
Besides, I don't really need anything. It's nice that people thought of me, but I have never really *needed* Christmas presents. Except for when I was 6, and thought the world revolved around them ;)

I'm like Amy - I enjoy spending hours wrapping presents and making them look pretty by adding bows,ribbons & tag cards. Almost everyone i know, for some weird reason, says they hate wrapping presents.

idk. i rly luv to see my little bros faces when they open a cool present i got em but i have to say, if its good stuff, i like reciving mor.

i love going shopping and i love making other people happy. it's so worth it once you see your friend or whoever destroy all the effort you went through to make the present beautiful and brighten up at the gift you spent all your money on. honestly i love giving!

but recieving also puts a smile on my face. ;)

Not to sound shallow or anything but recieving has always been my higest priority in Christmas because I never beg for presents and it is my big chance to get what I wish for so badly <3... I love giving too but I'm not rich at all and I don't make money so I would never be able to give something expensive :'(

They say the thought counts but trust me! In the Christmas holidays it's all about getting the biggest and most expensive gifts which is why I prefer to recieve cause I aint no spoiled brat, just bring your heart and soul into the gift and I'll love it ;)

I will be honest I do like to receive, but I get the most pleasure out of getting a gift for someone that I know they would really like but wouldn't see coming a mile away. The main problem is just trying to keep secret till Christmas day.

I think the MORE thought that goes into it, just like the time spent wrapping, the hours sitting on the floor till 2-4am, lol surrounded in plethera of paper and profusion of ribbons and wrapping sundries! I loved all of it. It feels good to give anything~

Honesty is the key; I'm rather materialistic. Plus I'm broke as all heck, I'd love to be able to give but the most I'm able to do is a hand-made card. :/

Forget giving and getting!! It's all about the wrapping paper!! (I love wrapping and unwrapping that shiz)!!!!

Both make me happy, but I prefer the happiness I get from giving - not to mention it's better in general, not just better for me. Man, this sounds so cheesy and false xD but it's true, honestly!!
