There was a version that only John Hughes had that had deleted scenes and one of them was a make-put scene in the closet. John Hughes thought that on screen make-out sessions got boring really fast so he kept that part out of the movie. I really wish I could have seen the deleted scenes version.

The other comments are correct - there was a kiss between Bender and Claire in the closet that got deleted. There are images of the scene online. Looked like a really sexy kiss, really annoyed it was deleted
