preferito opening line from classic literature?

My preferito is the first line of Jane Eyre da carlotta, charlotte Bronte:
"There was no possibility of taking a walk that day."

I dont know why that's my favorite...I guess it's because it puts the domanda of 'well, why not?' into your mind.
