I think the movie wouldn't have stayed very close to the book if Coraline had had a brother or sister, because she probably wouldn't have explored enough to find anything out of the ordinary...

NO. She stands alone and that's why I like her.

In movies, generally adding more characters which didn't exist before ruins it, Wybie is an exception. But siblings would most likely have been too close to her and or noticed the door too. They would've interfered with the entire plot! It just wouldn't've worked!

Well, maybe i just said YES so Coraline wouldn't waste her time in finding the ghost eyes, things like that. Coraline is fast and smart too, but i think it will be a lot more easier if her siblings seperate and find the eyes at the same time before the button-moon is a full button-moon. BTW, i like Coraline the way she is too.

i like being an only child and coraline is to and its not that bad and if coraline had sibilings then that would not be right.

Coraline's character would be different if she had siblings. She'd probably be less independent and less of an introvert.
