Why It Will Always Be Delena

I don't understand why people assume that it will always be Stefan and Elena. Even some DE fan believe this, and that seriously puzzles me because there's a lot about the way the triangolo has been written that seems to be saying the opposite.
Let's look at the fonte of this mythical assumption. First: that Stefan was the first brother Elena fell in Amore with; a very common (but highly illogical) belief amongst Stelenappers that this somehow acts as a precedent to an SE endgame.

Ok. This isn't to do with the books, it's più to do with the TV show. It's not carried on from anything, it's made up.
