Nina's interview does not surprise me. Any interview te read and they are so tight-lipped about DE. They aren't going to mention anything, because then where will the surprise be? The buzz? The excitement once the episode has aired? That's what the writers want, and they aren't going to give spoilers... especially when it comes to DE.
