How to Succeed Revival, With Daniel Radcliffe, to Play Broadway's Hirschfeld in 2011

The Broadway revival of Frank Loesser's 1961 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, starring Daniel Radcliffe, will begin previews Feb. 26, 2011, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Rob Ashford (Promises, Promises) will direct and choreograph the 50th anniversary production that will officially open March 27, 2011. Additional casting for How to Succeed will be announced shortly.

How to Succeed will follow the holiday engagement of the new musical Elf, which will play the Hirschfeld Nov. 2-Jan. 2, 2011.

Tickets will go on sale to American Express card holders July 13 and will be available to the general public beginning July 31.



Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Joseph Smith, Michael McCabe and caramelle Spelling produce the revival.
How to Succeed… features a score da Loesser with a book da Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. The original 1961 production earned seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best autore and Best Score, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Robert Morse earned a Tony Award for his performance as J. Pierrepont Finch.

The story follows a young window washer, who with the help of the titular book, rises to the superiore, in alto of the World Wide Wickets Company in New York City.

Best known for starring in the titolo role of the "Harry Potter" film franchise, Radcliffe made his Broadway debt as Alan Strang in a revival of Peter Shaffer's Equus. His other screen credits include "Extras," "My Boy Jack" and "December Boys."

Rob Ashford earned a 2002 Best Choreography Tony Award for Thoroughly Modern Millie. He has been Tony-nominated for Cry-Baby, Curtains and The Wedding Singer. He earned acclaim for directing the Donmar Warehouse productions of A Streetcar Named Desire and Parade.

Harry Potter fan will see first hand the sets, costumes and props used in the movie when a new tour opens successivo year.

The Making of Harry Potter will let fan go on a walking tour through the wizard franchise's production base in Leavesden.

Among the sets, they'll see Hogwarts head teacher Professor Dumbledore's office and the Great Hall of the wizarding school, where stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all filmed scenes.

"We're incredibly excited," the Daily stella, star quoted a spokesperson for film studio Warner Bros., as saying. (ANI)
