How about "LOST's" Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond Humes) as Barnabas? Also, consider Blake Ritson from "Mansfield Park"--he has the hair and costume for 1795 Barnabas going on in that program. Jason Isaacs would be just dandy. Were he younger, I would have said Ciaran Hinds as well.

RDJ has that dark look and I think he'd make a classy Barnabas. Jason Isaacs, Russell Crowe and Alan Rickman would be great. Clooney really reminds me of Jonathan Frid but Clooney really got old looking tho. Hugh Laurie and Ralph Fiennes would be interesting too i think.

I just thought of someone else: Gabriel Byrne. He looks much like Frid--especially the profile--although he, like Depp, is not as tall as Frid. I remember him from "Gothic" as Lord Byron. He was so handsome as the musketeer in "The Man in the Iron Mask", and super frightening/vulnerable in "The Usual Suspects".

He'd be good as Barnabas. He has that dark look and he'd be a good vampire. I'd like to see a DS movie with RDJ within the next few years, in a serious tone. Barnabas has to be troubled, confused, out-of-place, struggling with his vampire self and the small bit of him thats still human.

In the trailer for the new movie, after seeing Barnabas being the brunt of jokes, I really hope within the next few years we get a proper DS movie.

RDJ or Clooney. I picked RDJ because he has a handsome face but very mysterious eyes. Clooney sort of has that same feel too, but if Clooney would have to dye his hair black for Barnabas.

I could see George Clooney as Barnabas. He'd make a cool vampire. He'd make Barnabas very classy. He does have somewhat of a resemblence to Jonathan Frid. RDJ would be great as Barnabas. Alan Rickman, Jason Isaacs, Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Laurie would be good too. Gabriel Byrne I could see, he looks a lot like Frid.

Now that NBC cancelled his show, "Awake", perhaps Jason Isaacs will be available for the role of Barnabas Collins! ("Awake" was not given enough time to find an audience; just like the NBC primetime version of "Dark Shadows" in 1991.)
