Deb drove through the gate that separated Serenity collina from the outside world. She parked and got out. She walked up the building, where some people were gathered.
One of them looked up, and walked up to her. He smiled at her.
“Hello, Debra” he greeted, and he spread his arms. “Look at you. You’re all grown up”
“Hello, Dale” Deb replied, detached.
Dale stepped forward, with the intention to hug her, but Deb backed away. Dale got the hint, and stepped back.
“I came to see my family” Deb said.
“It’s been, um, fifteen years” Dale commented, a bit surprised. “Why now?”...
