Hi all! Just so te know, I've catered this articolo to 2013 - er, 2014 - in America, where I happen to live. So here it goes! (And when I say 'survival' I don't mean of the morbid sort, I mean it as their general well being and success in the world)

Snow White: With her kindness, I'm willing to bet that Snow could make it up to about high school, but after that, her naievity (sp?) and trusting nature could betray her in finding both romantic and business relationships that will help her. While she's good at making friends, it's a guarantee that not everyone would be as accepting as the dwarves.

Cinderella:Cinderella would most definitely be a strong contender for living a great modern life. At the beginning of her tale, it's shown that she can work hard and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, but she's also not afraid to be pampered, so she'd be happy (and if not happy, able to manage) both sides of the spectrum of success.

Aurora: (note: I haven't seen this movie in forever, and it's never been my favorite, so orso with me) Never trust anyone that could put te into eternal sleep. Aurora didn't know that the witch would hurt her, but like Snow White, this sleeping beauty is just too trusting.

Ariel: I'd have to toss a coin for this one - Ariel is clever and spunky, but she also inhabits the biggest downfall - the 'Oh, look, shiny!'. While she's not necessarily naive, Ariel is too curious for her own good. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt though - she's proven an ability to remove herself from sticky situations.

Belle: Belle is book smart. strada, via smart? Not so much. But she's proven that cleverness and intelligence can go very far in any time period. Her smarts will carry her successfully into adulthood and farther.

Jasmine: Jasmine's smart, a bit silly (only because I don't want naive to be my buzzword) but her complessivamente, generale attitude will help her be successful.

Pocahontas: Smart. Strong. complessivamente, generale bada**. Enough said.

Mulan: See above. Add adorably clumsy (at the beginning mostly.) Again, enough said.

Tiana: Tiana's smart and hardworking and she can juggle anything like nobody's business. She could totally rock anything anyone throws at her. A+.

Rapunzel: Buzz goes the buzzword. Even though Rapunzel can hold her own, her sheer lack of knowledge of the outside world would be her downfall in the modern times.

Merida: She's tough and spunky in addition to smart. The only bump in the road I can imagine her hitting is something to do with her hotheadedness, but she'll make it far regardless of temper.

Anna: Anna is my preferito princess, so I regret to write this - Anna would not be terribly well in the modern times. She's clever and brave, sure, but she's a bit awkward and sheltered, especially after living her whole life beyond closed doors. She'd need a better grasp of how to deal with loneliness before she could go anywhere, and while complete selflessness is great in fairytales, she can't continuously risk it all for others in real life.

So, what I've learned from this is that I'm a pessimist and that Disney is slowly but surely creating più strong female characters, with less of 'le buzzword' in their lives.

What are your opinions on the matter? Anything te disagree with?
I Amore that despite how she grew up she's always optimistic and sweet, I Amore her passion for painting and her art style, and I Amore her Canto voice -BB2010

I Amore Rapunzel's intelligence, creativity, and curiosity. She charted stars and never gave up on her dreams to see the floating lanterns. She is also very honest, kind, and optimistic, which I love. She sees the good in others and doesn't give up on anyone that she loves. -sunnyfields

I Amore her enthusiasm! But I especially Amore how she overcomes years of psychological abuse. She has so much inner strenght. -Swanpride

In 2013 Frozen took the world da (ice) storm, it was everywhere. Let it Go played on the radio constantly, te couldn't go to a store without seeing Frozen merch, everyone was talking about it, many thought it was one of Disney's best Film in a long time.

Then the backlash began...

People got sick of all the Frozen after a while, even now there's still Frozen all over the place and people tend to roll their eyes when someone even mentions Frozen. The thing is, nothing about the movie o characters had changed, it was still a good movie with a decent soundtrack, interesting characters, and...

On the Ninth giorno of Princess Walt Disney gave to me

Nine Ships are sailing

eight mice a-sewing
seven dwarves dancing
six sisters singing
five cursed friend

four braiding girls
three fairy spells
two lucky pals
and the wisdom of an old tree.

If te ever want to establish a new international holiday, do it in September. I am serious, there are surprisingly few actual holidays in this mese - but a lot of really weird ones. I was kind of tempted to mark "Talk like a Pirate Day" in the calendar for that reason alone, but soon I had two hot contenders. One was Heritage giorno which would have most likely...

As difficult as my pick for march was, as easy was the one for April. After all, the most obvious holiday to feature is Easter, and there is only one princess which came back from the death. The most difficult part for this one was to decide which giorno to mark...the friday, the sunday, the monday o all of them. I felt that "all of them" would be going a little bit overboard, so I finally went for the monday. I hope that is okay with you.

And naturally I...

Okay so this is really late and I'm putting it up kinda late in the night, on Thanksgiving, no less. But I finally rewatched Ribelle - The Brave tonight! I got a subscription to Disney+ at the start of this mese and I finally set up my account on my mom's tv (if I'm going to leech off her Netflix and Hulu, she can at least be able to use my Disney+) and my niece put on Brave, one of her preferito movies, and we all sat down and watched it together :)

Today's rewatch: Brave

Thank te to everyone who participated in Princess of the Month! For November we celebrated Belle, so here's an articolo on why we adore her:

Belle is my preferito princess, so I could wax eloquent concerning all the things I adore about her. In the interest of space, though, here is one thing I particularly Amore about her: her sense of self-worth. I don't feel like this is often talked about, but it's really inspiring to see her embrace her interests even in the face of constant ostracization from the townspeople. Everyone thinks she's weird and whispers behind her back, but despite this she...

While this is the secondo articolo I wrote about this list, this is the third time I did this countdown, the first one being a few years ago. Compared to last year's results, while some of the same stuff is on the lista there's different placements and new stuff so let's check out how different this is!

10. The village, the rest of the army, and Shang’s father dead
Original placement: 5

While this one did have some users saying that while it was shocking, the moment we see the little doll Shan-yu had earlier is when they started to feel sad about this scene. This was a very sad scene once te get...

The one thing missing in Snow White and the seven dwarfs is any communication between Snow White and the Evil Queen . Unlike in Disney's Cenerentola and Rapunzel - L'intreccio della torre all of whom are step mum verses step daughter. Two different people Snow White kind, happy and a giving person, whilst the Queen is a harsh, mean and only cares for herself.

In Mirror Mirror there is a brilliant mostrare of this in one of the first scenes.

So Snow White is 18 today. She is sad, lonely and bored in her bedroom, a bird pops in and so Snow White feeds it, then she hears a fanfare coming from downstairs. Snow gets excited...

This is a movie I've been looking inoltrare, avanti to rewatching for a while :) I Amore the Disney Princess Film (except maybe Brave, still need to watch that again) but The Little Mermaid brings back so much nostalgia for me. This movie isn't number 1 on my preferito DP movie lista but it's still one of my all-time preferito movies.

Today's rewatch: The Little Mermaid

So I'm going to be really honest with you. After watching Pocahontas 2 and Mulan 2 I really really really really don't want to watch this movie. That's why it took me so long to watch it and write this articolo and the reason I'm only just now doing it is because I borrowed this movie from the biblioteca almost 2 weeks fa and I have to return it tomorrow.

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
So, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, this movie scared me when I was little because of how scary some of the animazione was. When this movie was released on dvd for the first time in 2002 o 2003, I didn't want to watch it because I thought I was still going to be scared of it. But then my stepmom...

Tonight's rewatch: Both Frozen shorts
Last time watched: 2018

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
Like Frozen, these shorts came out in my 20s so I wasn't a kid but like I detto before, I'm a kid at heart! I was hesitant to watch both shorts because I kept hearing a lot of Frozen haters call these shorts cash cows and detto the holiday special was boring. I hardly heard anything positive about both shorts. I watched Frozen Fever about a week o two after it premiered and I loved it and I finally watched Olaf's Frozen Adventure around Natale time last anno and, again, loved it!

Why I love...
