coolsinger198 The parents could have just told told Elsa to be aware of her powers and to not be afraid of them. They could've told her to play with Anna but not to get out of hand. Since "love will thaw", if she played with Anna, she would fee love and there wouldnt be a problem. Damn...

iwasneverhere @Gabby: Now you understand why this movie rubs me the wrong way?? I still think Triton is bad, to this day, until he changes at the end. Similarly, with Queen Elinor. But this????!? I HATE this movie because if you took out the parents and the STUPID trolls, you'd HAVE NO CONFLICT AND NO MOVIE. Weird, but true.

OnceABlueMoon I disagree in that I feel Elsa should take part of the blame too. She is a child when she hurts Anna so I understand her wanting to avoid her sister as just a matter of immaturity. But when her parents die, and she's 18 and she doesn't talk to Anna for literally 3 years? I cannot excuse Elsa for that. I understand not talking to Anna during he first month. She has a lot of grieving to do, and powers to control, but after that? Why doesn't she talk to her sister?!? She's supposed to be the mature one, the one who reprimands Anna for marrying someone she just met, the one who's about to run a freaking country! No wonder Anna jumps at the first chance she gets to marry someone who won't ignore her! All the years of isolation, she finally meets someone who makes her happy, and Elsa has the gall to reprimand her?! It always infuriates me when people get upset at Anna for trying to marry Hans. He is her one chance for human companionship, of course she's going to take it! That's why I'm so annoyed at Frozen for making Hans the villain. It was just a shoehorned way to prevent Elsa from being the villain, and to give some bullshit message that you shouldn't marry someone you just met ( which in the context of the movie doesn't even make any sense, given how emotionally starved Anna is). They should have just made Elsa the anti-hero! Have her do all the things I said above. Have Anna get angry at her for it! Have Elsa hurt Anna when she is infuriated and looses control! Have her realize that she hurt her sister, and decide to go with her to meet the trolls! She knows where they are, she's been there before. Have them talk along the way about their past! Have Elsa explain what she did when they were younger (Anna never even learns what caused her sister to be so distant from her). Let them talk it out, let them forgive each other! Give Anna some agency, give freaking Elsa some agency! Let them go down to Arendelle together distraught about how they're going to warm Anna's heart. Have Hans show up (who is not evil by the way, just emotionally repressed like Anna from living in the shadow of 12 older brothers) and allow him to realize that the only way he can save his fiance is if he kills Elsa, they could even do it through a musical number! At least then we could have had a villain song, the closest we get is Fixer Upper. Have Anna learn that Hans is going to kill her sister and run to block Han's blade. Have BOTH Hans and Elsa grieve for their lost love, both villains weeping together over their only chance of redemption. And then have Anna come alive, allowing Elsa to finally realize how much Anna loves her, how much she loves her sister, and how only by loving herself can she thaw her OWN frozen heart. Give Anna the line: "I love you Elsa, now you need to love yourself." And THEN let Elsa thaw the kingdom. Frozen could have been such a good movie if they had just treated the characters as people and not just plot devices. This could have been one of the best movies disney ever produced, but they completely ruined their chance. Sorry this turned into a rant about how Frozen should have happened. But yeah, Elsa still deserves a lot of the blame for what happened if we are going to consider her mature by any standards. The way she is portrayed in the movie, she is just as immature as her five year old self, maybe even more so.

Sk8er__grl I do agree that this would be great. But I still feel like it's their parents who need to take full blame. It's not like they die when Elsa was five and she decides to separate herself for the rest of her life. NO they don't freaking pass away till she is 18! That is 13 YEARS of mental, verbal, physiological abuse! I can tell that Elsa wants to be with her sister. She cries every time her sister wants her to come out but her parents destroy any chance she has. They separate their bedrooms, tell Elsa to stay in her room, and they won't even let them touch each other! Plus it wasn't just like she accidentally destroyed her doll or anything she almost God Damn kills her! And it not like any one from there made it better, no, they make it worse! Constantly tearing her DOWN saying she's a monster for something that she can't control. And the so called "wise" trolls are very blunt about everything. The trolls practically tell her what her life will be like. "Hey guess what Elsa fear will be your enemy and you have no control over it because will tell you your destiny and that destiny is to be a monster ahahaha!" Elsa: "well don't I have a different choice in the world like couldn't I just learn to control my fear and you could not scare us for life?- "NO FEAR WILL BE YOUR ENEMY NOW DEAL WITH IT YOU DIRTY FREAKING DEVIL!!!" Elsa: *Shivering* Okay...." I'd actually think Elsa was a monster to want to be so selfish as to just play with her sister after what everybody told her all her life as she would be risking her sister's life! MissCassecou Hi everyone. This is an interesting topic; one that I have wanted to see a discussion about for a while. When I first saw the trailer for Frozen, I knew I was going to like Elsa. Elsa seemed to be my kind of girl; she looked brave, smart and bad-ass. What surprised me was how I liked Anna as well. I dunno, I didn't find her that annoying, I just found her clumsiness to be funny sometimes. It does annoy me how she doesn't listen however, and when she's trying too hard to be the tough girl. Anna isn't my favourite princess but she's in the middle there somewhere. Elsa I did like too, even if she wasn't the girl I expected her to be. I was shocked of how over-the-top her parents went about the whole keep-it-a-secret thing. I didn't even understand why they had to keep it a secret anyway - couldn't they just tell people so they knew about it and were cautious? It might be a little uncomfortable for Elsa, but at least people remained safe and she had the opportunity to socialise. I have no idea why the felt it necessary to remove Anna's memories about her powers. That made no sense to me, but it ended up being the reason of the whole plot of the movie. So I kind of blame the trolls. I dunno but for me this is not exactly an article about liking Anna and Elsa, it's an article about liking the parents and the trolls. All of the bad stuff for me about those two is what the parents and the trolls caused. Sorry if I have offended anybody by my opinion but that's just it. Anna and Elsa are not the problem for me; it's the parents and the trolls.

BelleRose829 I do think it was cruel for Elsa to shun her sister at their parent funeral, but why did she start shunning her in the first place? Parents. The entire reason for Anna's emotional suffering is because they have implanted that in Elsa, to stay away from Anna at all cost.
