After seeing Tangled, I decided that I needed to update the ol' list. The last time I updated my lista was about 3 months ago. My lista has changed quite a bit since then. I've watched all of the Princess Film over the past week, and came up with a brand spankin' new list. To mix things up a bit, I've included my preferito scene from that Princess' movie. Hope te enjoy!
*Spoiler Alert* Skip over Rapunzel if te haven't seen Rapunzel - L'intreccio della torre yet!
10. Princess Aurora
Nothing has really changed my opinion about Aurora. She was #9 on my last countdown. I can't watch her entire movie to save my life. Sure, the Musica is lovely and the animazione is gorgeous, but I still can't stay conscience. I do however believe if we got a tad bit più screen time with her that she would be higher on my list. She's very sweet, and a longs for her dream to come true; don't we all want that?
My preferito scene from "Sleeping Beauty", is when Aurora is in the forest picking berries, and Canto "I Wonder". It's such a wistful, romantic song. It's really the only time we get one-on-one time with Aurora, and get to know her a little bit.
9. Tiana
On my precedente list, Tiana was in the superiore, in alto five. She's just too uptight, and I think they over-did the whole "southern" thing. I do admire her though. She's a dedicated, hard working young woman. She has a goal to open her own restauarnt, and busts her tail working two jobs in order to achieve it. I'm a lot like Tiana...we are both from the south, we're very close with our Mom's, and we're both hard workers. I like her, but she's just not "Princess-y" enough for my taste.
My preferito scene from "The Princess and the Frog", is at the very beginning, where Tiana is just a little girl, spending time with her family. It's one of the very few times we see a Princess interact with both parents. I just think it's sweet how much they all Amore each other.
8. Pocahontas
I've always loved Pocahontas. I hate putting her so low on the list, but I just like the rest of the Princesses più than her; but that doesn't mean I Amore her any less. I Amore the lifestyle that she has, and envy her for all the time she gets to spend outdoors; running through the forest, canoeing down the river. I Amore the passion she and John Smith have; to me, their Amore is più realistic than any of the other Princesses. And as sad as the end is, I like that it ends in such a dramatic way...it makes it special.
My preferito scene from this movie, is when Pocahontas and John Smith see each other for the first time. I Amore the way Pocahontas moves her body as she sneaks around, spying on John. I get chills everytime I see him jump out and point his gun at her, then slowly drops his weapon because he's staring at the most beautiful creature he has ever seen.
7. Mulan
I highly admire Mulan. She is so incredibly brave. If I were in her shoes, I don't think I'd be able to go through with it. I like that she's a quick thinker as well; like when she fires the canon at the mountain creating an avalanche, o when she's on the roof and uses her fan to defend herself. I would have freaked out in both situations, and been forced to take a Xanax to calm my nerves! Anyways, she is pretty much kickass.
My preferito scene is definitely when Mulan decides to go to war in her Fathers place. The scene is so dramatic, and full of emotion. The Musica makes it even better. It's empowering to watch.
6. Jasmine
I had really forgotten how much I like gelsomino until I watched "Aladdin" a few days ago. The girl has balls, and I Amore that about her. She speaks her mind no matter what, has one of the coolest pets ever, she has awesome long hair, and I absolutely Amore her outfits...the blue and red one, NOT the purple dress she wears during the royal announcement.
Ok, ok...I know it's extremly cliché, but this is my preferito scene. I know the song is cheesy and we're all kind of tired of it, but they're flying around on a magic carpet! They both look like they're having so much fun.
5. Rapunzel
I seriously Amore this girl. She has so many of the qualities that I like to see in a "Princess"; naivety, hopeful, adventurous, talented, sweet personality, sassiness, and of course pretty hair! I Amore her story, style, voice...everything!
My preferito scene is definitely the end. I gasped so loud and hard when Flynn cut her hair off that I almost swallowed my tongue. Rapunzel proves how much she loves Flynn da pleading with Mother Gothel to let her heal him, and promising to go away with her. And when she finally meets her parents at the end, it's just so sweet. I can't wait for this to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over again!
4. Ariel
Ariel has always been close to my heart. "The Little Mermaid" came out when I was four years old, and I can still remember my first time watching it; I was in complete awe. I became obsessed with wanting to become a mermaid. I had shirts with Ariel on it, panties, nightgowns, and Ariel Barbie dolls. She's fun, determined, adventurous, sweet, and has an amazing voice.
One of my many preferito scenes, is when Eric and Ariel officially meet. I Amore how nervous she acts as she tries to fix her hair as he approaches her. It's just a sweet, innocent moment between the two of them.
3. Belle
Are te shocked? I'm a bit shocked myself. For as long as I can remember, Belle has been my #2 favorite. I still Amore her just as much, so don't be disappointed *coughs*ppv*coughs*. I really admire Belle for wanting più than what was expected of her in her town. She just didn't fit in the same mold as everyone else, and had no problem embracing that. I Amore her relationship with the Beast; how it grows from hate to like, and then from like to love.
It was difficult to pick a preferito scene from this movie because I have so many; I decided on the West Wing scene, because it's such a major part of the story and creates a chain of events...Belle runs away after the Beast frightens her, then the Beast saves her from the wolves, then they begin to bond, become friends, and eventually fall in love. This animazione here is stunning and the Musica gives me the chills.
2. Snow White
Yep, the one that started it all is now my secondo preferito Princess. I loved her as a small child, but as I grew up she began to annoy me with how perfectly sweet she was. Now that I'm grown and watch her movie, I truly appreciate it more; the film itself AND Snow White as a character. I find it simply impossible to dislike her! She is so sweet it almost turns me into a diabetic! She's innocent, beautiful, caring, helpful, obedient, and the lista goes on. The relationship between the Prince and Snow White might not be realistic, but come on...who watches a fairy tale expecting anything less? That's why I Amore it, and her; it's a fantasy!
I just adore the scene at the beginning where Snow White meets the Prince. She's so shy and sweet, and he sings one of the most beautiful Amore songs to her. I especially Amore the part where she is standing behind the curtain, looks down at her rags, then fusses with her hair, trying to look pretty, when she really needn't bother; she is already beautiful!
1. Cinderella
No one will EVER touch my cuore the way this Princess has. She has been in my life since I was three years old. Her tale is not an easy one; her life was full of pain and heartache. Her step-family never treated her like a human being, but she never let that get to her; she didn't change because of the way she was treated. She still greeted each morning with a smile, and a positive attitude that someday her dreams would come true; and they did. I Amore everything about her. She is sweet, caring, hopeful, romantic, sarcastic at times, and beautiful on the inside AND out. In my opinion, she is the ultimate Princess.
This was another hard one to pick a preferito scene from. It's my all time preferito movie, so this was not easy for me! I Amore the beginning when she wakes up and sings "A Dream Is A Wish Your cuore Makes". Her little bedroom is small and cozy, and has a breathtaking view of the Castle. It warms my cuore to hear her sing, and to see her animal Friends help her tidy up and get dressed. It's just a precious scene to me.
