Some of the Princesses' wardrobes with a few others.
For the past ten weeks, I have been holding a countdown for the wardrobes of the Disney Princesses. This is my first articolo and countdown so please don't judge! If you're ready, here we go!!!!!
11) Snow White
Yes, the princess that started it all also starts off the list. The main reason for this is most likely because she doesn't have a lot of outfits in her movie and the two dresses she does wear, some people say are childish and not super fashionable. In my opinion, this is one of the weaker wardrobes for I dislike her servant dress and I think her princess dress is okay (not a real fan of the sleeves o the collar).
10) Pocahontas
This one is probably the most obvious to me. Only one dress, however a good amount of people find it beautiful.
9) Merida
Similar to the last two princesses, Merida has a limited wardrobe which has some mixed reviews. While her main dress received mostly good reviews, some people did find it not very special as for her princess dress, people's opinions range from loving it to hating it, especially with the wimple.

This articolo is similar to MaidofOrleans' articolo but it has a unique twist. I started Scrivere mine a few days before she postato hers. So don't worry I'm not stealing her idea o anything. Plus she knows it's different from hers. We talked about it in her article's commento section.

Different perspectives - my past memories, my mum's memories, memories involving a friend, other fandom perspective and recente points of view.

Feel free to use my idea to make your own version if it inspires you. Just make sure te credit me please for the original idea.

Snow White

I was so excited when I saw a sequel of Disney’s Snow White out on VHS. Nevermind that the main character looked different, wore a different dress, had a different voice and the animazione seemed più 80’s. The dwarves sisters helped guide Snow White to the villain’s castello so she could save her prince from a male villain who turned his enemies into stone. It was great and I enjoyed it più than the original. Ah youth. The ability to watch something and let everything else go over your head. Except I did come to my senses on my secondo viewing years after...

So this was a topic that was brought up a couple weeks fa that brought on a big debate. There were people who detto a fat princess wouldn't be a good role model, that obesity kills people, that just because there's only thin princesses doesn't mean kids are going to worry about it, that the princesses have to be beautiful, etc.

I used to read a lot of libri and watch a lot of tv growing up, mostly Harry Potter and Disney. As much as I Amore the Harry Potter series and Disney movies, the way fat people are depicted is really upsetting. I mean there's Dudley who's described as being as fat as a baby orca and then there the comedy relief in Disney Film who are fat half the time (Mr Smee, Gus, Le Fou, etc) o there's times where the ugly people are fat (Ursula).

I've been chubby all my life and I've been made fun of for the rolls on my stomach and I've had to deal with commenti about what I'd be eating. Half of the time it'd be from sisters and the other half from school. So seeing how fat people are depicted in media made me feel even worse about myself.

Here we go, from least preferito to favorite, here's the Mother's giorno countdown results! I know mother's giorno was two days fa but I'm not waiting a whole anno to put up the articolo so here we go :)

13. Evil Queen
So it's pretty obvious why she was taken out first; She forced her stepdaughter to be a scullery maid and tried to have her killed (twice) just because she was jealous of how beautiful Snow White was.

12. Lady Tremaine
Again, pretty obvious why she was taken out early. Like Snow White, Cinderella's stepmother forced her to be a maid. But unlike Snow White at least Tremaine didn't actually try to kill Cinderella. That doesn't mean she's any better though because she gave Cenerentola false hope of going to the ball and had her daughters tear up Cinderella's dress when it looked like Cenerentola was able to go, and then locked her in her room so she couldn't marry the prince.

Okay we've officially finished the countdown so as promised here's the articolo featuring the results! This articolo will not only mostra the results, each scene will include my thoughts, the thoughts of the participants, and there will be comparisons to the last time I did this countdown!

Here we go!

10. Merida crying and saying sorry to her mom
Original placement: none (it wasn't in the last countdown)
I've had mixed commenti about this scene. There were people who detto they thought this scene was sad because Merida thought she Lost her mom forever but then other people detto that Merida should have done this a long time ago. While I do agree that Merida should have apologized a long time ago, I honestly cry when Merida is hugging her orso mom and saying that she's sorry and how her mother had always been there for her. I feel like this scene could have been used at least in the middle of the movie instead of near the end.

9. Ariel crying after King Triton destroyed her collection

First let me apologize for the pictures. My life is marmellata packed right now and I wanted to get this articolo published seeing as that we are already past gelsomino month. So I used tiffany88's moodboards instead.

Well, it's that time again, now that gelsomino mese has ended to give te my lista of who I think Jasmine's preferito princesses would be. Sorry that it's a little late. As always, I don't profess to be an expert on this. Also, I eventually just ended up posting this because I couldn't really come to a conclusion.

10. Cinderella

Yeah...I think we all saw this one coming. Though it's predictable, it's not without merit. gelsomino and Cenerentola are possibly the two most dissimilar princesses. While Cenerentola handles most issues with tact and foresight, gelsomino is immediately temperamentally responsive and impulsive. I think Cinderella's situation would totally frustrate gelsomino as well as Cinderella's propensity to trust blindly in faith and dreams; gelsomino doesn't believe in any of that and takes matters into her own hands. Also, Jasmine's tenacity in speaking her own mind would clash terribly with...

People tend to get caught up in preconceived notions of a character based on their appearance o other surface level factors.

A prime example of this would be Snow White, people see her soft petite features, hear her high pitched voice and listen to her sing about a finding love, and they automatically assume she’s a docile weak passive shy individual. While Snow White is definitely a bit calmer and più carefree, she’s far from the most passive princess. After surviving a deadly encounter and knowing her life is still in danger, she gets picks her herself up rather quickly. Once she finds the dwarfs’ cottage, instead of begging and pleading for their charity o using her “wicked wilds” as Grumpy puts it to charm them, she devises a plan to earn her keep through cooking and cleaning in exchange for their protection. I will say that if Snow White were a man, she would probably earn her keep da helping out in the mine o fixing something broken, but still, using her housewife-y skills, which should really be universal skills, to her advantage is pretty commendable. She’s not a pushover, she’s a stern firm but fair leader to her animal Friends and the...

Just Around the Riverbend!
Hi guys, I'm going to be Scrivere about 2 real-life princesses and they are, Pocahontas and Anastasia. Are te ready?

Pocahontas

When I first watched this film, I did not know that it was base on a true story until I read an articolo about her on the Times Magazine in Singapore back then. It was vastly different from the Disney version that we all grew up, the sequel did not mention her baptism to which I came to regret watching it later on!
Anyway, her real-life story was quite similar to the Disney film. Except that the Amore story between John and Pocahontas is untrue, very much like Jack and Rose from Titanic.

Anastasia

This was the secondo historical film after Pocahontas that I had seen, it got me fascinated in Russian history surrounding the Romanov. Dmitri was actually base on a real-life person who benefit a little to the Anastasia mystery, like John Smith, he played a prince charming role for both titolo characters.

This is my lista of preferito DP Film in order :)

11. Brave
When the commercials for this movie came out I was so incredibly excited. I've always been excited for Film that feature women who can uses swords o bow and arrows (It's why I Amore Elizabeth from Pirates of the Caribbean and why I Amore Yona from the Anime Yona of the Dawn). The way the movie was advertised it looked like it was going to be about a mother and daughter who fight about what she should do for her future, there's an adventure in an Come d’incanto forest that'd almost be like Terabithia and a lot of other badass stuff.

I go to the Film and what do I get? A mother and daughter who fight about an arranged marriage and a plot similar to Brother Bear. Now don't get me wrong, I Amore Brother Bear. But after I spent weeks getting pumped and having all these expectations, needless to say I was really disappointed. I think the only parts I really liked were the climax (a literal mama orso fighting evil orso is badass) and the "Legends are lessosn. They ring with truths" line

Cenerentola castello and Wishing Well

I've written many posts about the various attractions in Disney theme parks based around the films I've been watching. Some have been prominent rides such as Snow White's Scary Adventure o Pinocchio's Daring Journey. Others have been obscure areas such as the Fantasia golfing attraction o ephemeral like Bambi's presence in the parks. Some have merely been meet and greets.

Cinderella, however, is a film whose impact on Disney theme parks is huge. It forms, after all, the centre-piece of Disney World itself - Cinderella's Castle; a massive structure visible for miles around the Magic Kingdom and the hub of the theme park. Cinderella's castello is also the castello at the centre of Tokyo Disneyland. Although Cinderella's castello is replaced da other princess's abodes in the other parks, this central castello icona is key to Disney's image.

Cinderella's castello is an impressive and emotional sight for many visiting Disney World. It's iconic white and blue colouring stands out as guests walk down main strada, via and dominates the Fantasyland area. Because the front of the castello hosts the staging area for...

A Disney Tale: A young girl is forced into drudgery da her step-family, only to win the cuore of the kingdom's Prince and live happily ever after.

Disney Hero: Ostensibly, the 'hero' of Cenerentola is the Prince (never actually referred to as Prince Charming, despite that being what he is generally known as today. Some sources have him named as Henry.). It is he who romances Cenerentola and desires her as his wife after the ball. But, actually, the real Heroes of Cenerentola - for me - are Jaq and Gus, Cinderella's mice friends. They are the one's who rescue Cenerentola from her attic room. Jaq is also responsible for battling Lucifer and saving many of his topo, mouse friends. I Amore Jaq and Gus!

Disney Heroine: Cenerentola is the first heroine of a Disney movie since Snow White to have a life outside the movie. As a character, she is iconic and forms an integral part of the 'Disney Princess' branding. Now, I had a lot of issues with Snow White as a character and, fortunately, the script and story for Cenerentola get a lot più right, although Cinderella's character is tied to the tropes required of her due to being a 'fairy tale princess'. I think a clear...

Thanks to Princesslullaby's recente sondaggio questions, I ended up looking at my own childhood vs. each Disney Princess's childhood. Some of this is just painful for me, and there is no getting around that.

My categories of adverse childhood situations (some with severe adverse conditions) are based on evaluation from the domestic violence class I took. I'll be frank. I have my own dissociation/childhood trauma.

This is an articolo where I'm defining where I'd group categories of adverse childhood experiences, specifically for the Disney Princesses. I'll also add in how each princess copes with their where-I-was-born dilemma.

Ariel and Rapunzel are right close together, because they just share the border between authoritarian parenting and authoritative parenting. Those parenting styles are similar, but are not the same.

Severe and Pervasive Childhood Oppression-- the Authoritarian Parenting Style

Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel receive this slot.

I saw some other members do articoli like this so I figured, why not give it a try? :)

11. Aurora
Ever since I was a little kid Aurora didn't leave much of an impact. I've always hated the whole "love at first sight" deal so I really don't like that she quickly falls in Amore with literally the first guy she meets and then gets all upset that she can't see him anymore after only meeting him once for a few seconds. Then there's the fact that for the rest of the movie she's asleep so there's nothing else we get to know about her.

She is really pretty, I've always loved her design and her dresses and I Amore her singing.

10. Cinderella
Like Aurora, not much of an impact. In fact I always thought she (and her movie) was really boring. It kinda feels like she didn't have much of a personality.

I do Amore that, unlike in the remake, she actually tried to stand up for herself in some parts of the movie instead of just pouting and going along with whatever the stepmom and stepsisters told her to do.

Here is a lista of my best DP role models. The most important thing to note here is that this is very much a subjective, rather than objective, list. Rather than trying to rank the princesses according to who I think is the best role model for children o other people in general, the ranking is purely according to how they serve me personally as role models.

11. Aurora

Perhaps not surprisingly, Aurora lands herself at the bottom of this list. She is gentle and kind, which are definitely qualities I appreciate, however she has little else to offer in terms of being a role model. Let's say she certainly doesn't inspire me.

10. Snow White

Snow White only has a little più to offer than Aurora in the role model department. Her joyful, outgoing nature is something that would serve me well to take note of, and I wish I could have a little of her optimism (but not too much!). But at the end of the day, she is living in an entirely different era and mindframe to me, which limits how much inspiration I can draw from...

Hello all, long time, no see, hello to newcomers.

I've decided to take a crack at being apart of this club again, with fresher, clearer perspectives and what better way to start than to review the film of the successivo potential Disney Princess, Moana.

I'm a little rusty so forgive me if this is all over the place.

So right off the bat I gotta say this movie's very.....average.

It honestly feels like a tv episode padded out with songs to make it feature length.

Moana is a likable enough character, I can almost pinpoint exact moments where she's similar to Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan and Rapunzel but maybe that's just me being a jaded Disney fan.

I do like the fact that the story has no allusion to marriage and romance at all instead of being dismissive o condescending towards those concepts.

The songs are okay, I probably have to listen to them a few più times to really get the hang of them. One thing I will say is that the transitions into the songs felt kinda forced and awkward in my opinion.

Princesslullaby's favorite Disney Dudes
Hello, Everyone! Today, it is my great pleasure to introduce --- Princesslullaby, fan of The mese for April 2018!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, Princesslullaby, on winning fan of the mese for April 2018!!!

It’s good to catch up with you, today, my friend. I’m proud te were selected. Do tell me some più of the unique things (we should all learn) about you!

1. How does it feel to be fan of the Month? Surprising? Heart-warming? It’s certainly impressive.

Humbling, to be honest. I haven't been on fanpop actively in years and this is my "revival" period...it will never be as good as the renaissance but it's fun to come back with fresh perspective. This is a totally new crew of fanpoppers who are smaller but share much different viewpoints/opinions than the old crew!

2. So, who is your preferito Princess? Why is she your favorite?

Ariel, because of how she never secondo guesses herself; she's so self-assured. I tend to be overcritical of myself and sometimes too cautious, and only recently have i started taking super spontaneous risks. I Amore how she has such blind faith and...

Considering that this is an articolo about fanpop, I thought it was best to let the fanpoppers speak for themselves and keep my commenti to a minimum.

11.Snow White

The general consensus on Snow White was that while people could connect with her kindness and enduring optimism, she is just too purist and naïve bordering on clueless for anyone to relate to.

"[I] Try to be optimistic, very caring towards animals, work hard, Amore cooking. I think people irl see me as naive too, which I dislike. I can be a bit trusting, although that's dwindled as I get older." -Audreyfreak

"We have very little in common. I don't have her ability to enjoy housework and I'm nowhere near as trusting as she is." -Portia0623

[i]"I Amore her, but I don't relate to her much at all. She's the epitome of optimism and I'm più of a realist-leaning-towards-pessimist. She's also naive (understandable, dato her age) and I like to think I'm a lot più shrewd when it comes to judging situations. She's extremely inherently kind to everyone, and whilst I try to be kind I definitely don't outwardly display...

No ones audition like Gaston!
Hi guys, since I had put this articolo in the Beauty and the Beast page. So, here are my choices for those who have not read the articolo yet and for your convenience! This articolo is basically on what would really happen if Luke Evans hadn't gotten the part of muscular narcissist bully.

1. Tom Burke

Yes, Alan Rickman's godson who played Roland and Bentley Drummle in Dragon Heart: A New Beginning and the 2011 miniseries Great Expectations respectively. From these 2 roles, he could the arrogant Gaston!

2. Colin Farrell

This Irish bad boy really is the ideal Gaston, his voice is gruffy and I bet his Canto will have a rock & roll quality to it if he sings both his titolo song and the Mob Song.

3. Robert Pattinson

The British actor will be another perfect Gaston, it would be a break from the famous Vampire Idol and is the guy successivo door.

4. Michiel Huisman

The only Dutch actor who could play Gaston, he has the looks for Gaston. He has everything that Gaston have!

Draco Malfoy in disguise, I bet!
Well, since nobody has come up with this topic (or so it seems), I'm going to be Scrivere about what really happen to Prince Adam's parents in the original 1991 version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

They Died Overseas

As royalties, I guess they died while they were doing their state visit. They were either assassinated o died from an unknown plague, leaving the servants to spoiled their only son Prince Adam!

They Ran Away

Upon believing that the Beast had killed their son when they return from their state visit, they ran away in fear.

The Beast Killed Them

Okay, I know this sounds morbid and cruel at the same time. But I believe their son killed them out of anger, for leaving him behind and for being in this monstrous form!

Suicide & Natural Causes

When they found out that their son was actually the beast after running away from the castello through the Enchantress, the King committed suicide and his wife died of a broken heart. Another morbid taste, I know!

J-Pop Moment.
Hi guys, this lista is something like the K-Pop lista that I made previously. Only this time, it's their Japanese counterparts. Ready?

1) Moonlight Densetsu (DALI)

Taken from the popolare Japanese anime, Sailor Moon. This song has always been part of my childhood and being a Die-Hard Sailor Moon fan, the princess will support them, especially on International Women's Day!

2) Shunken Sentimental (Scandal)

This is the first time that I'm listening to it, and while doing so, I notice that it sounds like some of Paramore's songs. In particularly, Misery Business.

3) Hitohira No Hanabira (Stereopony)

Another rock band, but the vocalist is più gentle than the lead singer than Scandal I felt.

4) Otome no Policy (Yoko Ishida)

Played at the ending credits of Sailor Moon R, the tempo is very upbringing and the lyrics is wonderful.

5) Kimochi wa Tsutawaru (BoA)

BoA is a Japanese singer who also sings Korean too, and this song reminds me of Aaliyah's songs.

11. DunBroch

It's nice and olden looking, but too dark and grey for my tastes, I'd feel like it's like Beowulf where any old monster just waltzes in and wrecks shit, not a lot of light o open spazio either. It gives me the creeps like it could be a haunted castello to visit for Halloween.

10. Snow White's castello

Too far away and off to the side for me. Feels like if I got sick o something no one would know about it. Like there's a castle, a forest, and then some dwarfs out in the middle of nowhere. We don't see much of the actually inside of the castello either, so it's anyone's guess how nice it looks inside, but the outside and the basement part seem too secluded, so it's not one of my favorites.

9. Beast's Castle

Just like the other too away from everything, the villagers don't even know about this huge culo castello not too terribly far away until Belle starts telling them about the beast, so either the town's folk are oblivious o it's another one...

Coronation Moments.
Since 5 princesses were originally commoners, what you're going to read is actually a few coronation Musica that will suit when the these 5 commoners became princesses!

1. Royal Coronation Overture (Patrick Brill)

So the composer is modern, but this Musica sounds French and Baroque. I personally think that Belle and Cenerentola will use this Musica since they are French.

2. Marche de Triomphe (Marc-Antoine Charpentier)

Another French Coronation, only this time da a French composer! Considering that this piece was use for the coronation of King Louis XIV of France (AKA The Sun King), it sounds pretty wonderful and for 5 princesses to march to this music!

3. Zadok the Priest (George Frederick Handel)

This Musica is for the coronation of every British monarchies, it would something different because it doesn't sound French at all!

4. I Was Glad (Hubert Parry)

This song was used in the 2011 Royal Wedding of Will and Kate, when the latter was walking down the aisle. It sounds Majestic and Grand for every princess to walk!

Hello ! I thought a lista of the DPs and what I like/dislike about them would be a good way to introduce myself to this club, so here it is ! Making this list, I was surprised at how difficult it was. I have a few princesses I dislike, but I really Amore most of them and it was hard to class them all. Some of them seem too low when I look at their rank, but then when I actually try to put them higher I realize I Amore the ones above just as much !

N°11: ARIEL

One of the only two princesses I actually dislike. She's a spoiled child who only thinks of herself, which would be fine if it was supposed to be a character flaw she'd eventually overcome, but no, she stays that way until the end of the movie. Out of all the Disney princesses, she's easily the one who's had it the easiest, and yet she's the one who complains the most ! It also doesn't help that I can't relate to any of her dreams - living amongst the humans, making her prince fall in Amore with her, etc.

The three classic princesses
Okay, I am Scrivere an articolo after a long time. I suffered from the lack of ideas and imagination for più than 12 days ago. So, I am not in a mood to start a new series, either, Damn! So, I decided to do one short article, duh! Sorry, I am gonna do a series! I mean, duh, some princesses were horribly out of place. I mean, we think every princess is beautiful, but some are a little historically inaccurate and drawn in a wrong way.

Snow White

It is kinda easy to figure out where this classic took place. The dwarfs’ house is decorated with carved wooden instruments and furniture. If te closely look at the mountains and the forest, I think it is in the black forest, which is in Germany. The dwarfs mostly yodel throughout the movie, and yodelling was first recorded in 1545, so we know the story took place after that. So, these clues suggest that Snow White’s story took place in the late 1500s in Germany. During this time of protestant reformation, Women wore dark colored fabrics that emphasized the waist and had a high neckline, with their hair usually pulled back...some women even wore a headpiece. And in this picture, Snow...

This is my guess:
Aurora:I always thought she's tall, but she can be medium height either. I would say 1.70 m,but she can be under that too.
Pocahontas:She's very tall, almost as tall as John Smith and he was tall. She has really long legs too.I guess 180-182 m.
Cinderella: I think she's average height. She's shorter than Aurora. Anything from 165-169 m.She can look tall sometimes.
Esmeralda:She's not a Disney Princess, but I read somewhere that she's the tallest of all Disney Princesses.
My guess is anything from 180 to 184 m.Don't know if she and Pocahontas would be same heght.
Elsa:I read that she and Anna are tall, but they always looked petite to me.Elsa is taller than Anna.
Tiana:She seemed tallish to me.I guess she might be around 173-174 m o even under that.
Mulan:I guess Mulan is short,so maybe 160-162 m.Li Shang was quiet good taller than her.
Belle:Belle is short o average.161-165 m.
Rapunzel:She's short obviously.Everything about her seems so childish and innocent.157-160 m.
