I mostly excuse them for locking Elsa because while they were ignorant, they were only trying to help (though it still angers me). But they have absolutely no reason to lock Anna as well. In fact, it would have been better for them to keep her outside as much as they could.

I can understand why they locked Elsa, but why Anna too? >.<

They're both pretty equal, but keeping Anna in the castle and trying to keep Elsa away from her and from others made no sense. By their logic, shouldn't Anna have been safer if she was allowed out (not on her own, of course)?

I don't see the issues here. Yes it was bad they locked Elsa up but they thought that it was best. If course Anna was locked up. Everyone was locked up and you can't just let the royal princess run around by herself. Even jasmine was locked up

It bothers me deeply that the ONLY SOLUTION the STUPID parents could come up with was to lock both of their daughters up/ house arrest. I don't like Frozen because it presents the wrong message on so many levels. It kind of says that even mismanaged decisions can be excused simply because "the ends were necessary."

Abusing your kids IS NEVER NECESSARY. So. I think it was horrible that both Anna and Elsa were trapped indoors. It totally messed with their minds and psyches.

They had a reason for locking Elsa up but Anna?

Locking both of them away was a stupid thing to do.

The troll says "Fear will be your greatest enemy," so they decide to lock Elsa away and constantly browbeat her with fear of using her powers lest she hurt people, and fear of people finding out about her powers lest they hurt her. She gets more scared, which makes her powers more erratic, but then they tell her "Conceal it, don't feel it" and "Getting upset only makes it worse." Um, no. You don't get to pile on more pressure and more fear and then tell her she's not allowed to feel pressured or scared by it.

Not to mention that Elsa's control of her powers gets WORSE after they decide to "help her," yet none of these idiots make the connection. They just insist on sticking to the method that clearly isn't working.

Locking away Anna was just as bad. They shut all the doors and windows so she has no guests to play with, spend all their time coaching Elsa so she cannot play with them, then move Elsa out of her room and encourage her to keep Anna out of the loop so they can't play with each other. So now Anna is also being punished, imprisoned, and isolated for something she's not even allowed to know about.

It was just a bad decision all around.
