8. Pocahontas and John - nature walk
9. Mulan and Shang - the dinner proposal
10. Snow and Florian - singing at the balcony
Please note that the ideal criteria for choosing an option for elimination should be basis the scenes in the film. What was included in the date - dinner/walk/ride/town tour etc, the setting of the scene (forest/ballroom/garden/lake and how exotic/beautiful it is, the romantic emotions between the couple (not from entire movie but in the scene itself).
Also, please consider the entire situation. For ex: Philip flirting with Aurora before dancing will be part of the date.
Creeeeeeeepy flirting.
Aurora and Philip: the atmosphere is gorgeous with forest and lakes and a hill overlooking the castle in the distance, Aurora singing and dancing makes for perfect mood. It has that element of little flirting from Philip, while a Aurora is shying away. But then she is convinced he means no harm and they dance together.
While i feel it was way too soon that Aurora and Philip got together and there was basically only dancing.
Ariel and Eric: I love that they go for town hopping together and share some adorable moments together. Then they get to share a dance, which Eric is teaching Ariel. Ariel is thrilled and Eric is slowly liking it. I totally love the boat scene! it's just so beautiful and breathtaking. My only problem is that Eric is not in this romantically, although he may like Ariel and he's clearly not into kissing her, while she's way too into it, which just kills my mood.
Therefore going by the "most romantic", i'd choose Ariel and Eric, because Eric isn't romantically involved in this. While Aurora and Philip have clearly fallen in love.
Philip is really into the flirting, and it shows. Aurora is not as into the flirting, and it shows. By the end of their flirting and dancing, I think Aurora may have warmed up to Philip. Before, Aurora was understandably, just really scared! Keep in mind that Aurora has never seen an in-the-living-flesh guy before. She's only had a picture of a "dream man" for years and years.
Going back to a collective evaluation of the date itself...I just think that flirting and dancing isn't a whole date. It's more a meet-and-greet.
To address the fact that people are voting for Ariel and Eric. Ariel and Eric collectively do more things together. The two of them took a tour around the kingdom (at Grimsby's suggestion), they went dancing, they went driving in a carriage for the scenery, and they went on a lagoon boat ride. And contrary to what Anukriti has said, Eric did start developing feelings for Ariel on their outing together. Ariel did not force herself on Eric. Eric actually leaned in really close, while pulling on the oars, and then he paused-- directly into Ariel's personal space! Ariel thought a kiss was about to occur. When Eric moved his head AND his body away, Ariel was just as embarrassed by her misinterpretation of Eric's body language as Eric was himself! (In this scene, Eric had gotten in really close to Ariel, and then his courage failed him. hahaha). Eric and Ariel both have a moment where the "new" element of falling in love produces fear. Once Sebastian "sets the mood"for them--- the fear wears off. And Eric has no problem following his feelings. Eric is the one who takes hold of Ariel's hands, first. It's not the other way around. And Ariel smiles at him quietly, closes her eyes, and just waits. That's one of the most magical and romantic moments in Disney for me.
Therefore, I'm choosing Philip and Aurora, this round. Philip and Aurora collectively do less during their date, which is not at all their fault, but instead part of the screenwriting for Sleeping Beauty. That setup is quite similar to Belle and the Beast ( who only have dinner in a side room off of the ballroom, dance for a tiny bit, and then go sit on the balcony). Just having dinner, dancing together, and then sitting on a balcony is not an exciting date to me, either. It's frankly, kind of boring.
1. I'm sure you were not confused between Ariel and Eric, and Aurora and Philip. So you choosing Aurora and Philip makes no sense while arguing the case of Ariel and Eric on the other hand. It seems you would be choosing Aurora and Philip over Belle and Beast. So your argument should have been why you chose Aurora and Philip over Belle and Beast.
2. i clearly said "Eric slowly liking it" which obviously you had read over. So "contrary to what Anukriti said" is the most futile counter argument ever.
3. TLM is not a scientifically proven fact and neither is your assessment of it, so please, "contrary to belief" is all the more futile argument because you are just presenting your own interpretation of scenes from the movie while others are presenting theirs.
As for me talking about whatever I want to talk about... and choosing Philip and Aurora because of "date content" ( how many things they do together) and Beauty and the Beast "date content" ( how many things they do together) was fine. I never said anything about Belle and Adam not falling in love and "not being romantically inclined or falling for each other." But you said that about Ariel and Eric. You said this entire countdown was supposed to be about elements of the date-- NOT the couples in it. You're toeing a bad line with me. Don't berate me. Just don't. It won't end well.
And let me tell you a fact, i don't hate Ariel. TLM TV series is my favorite TV series. It is fans like you who are just stupidly sensitive that dulls my liking for her for what she is because they can't get over praising their favorites.
That's your way of seeing it, not my problem. It's my personal choice that I don't see Eric being romantically involved with Ariel. I'm neither blaming Ariel for this nor victimizing Eric. If he's romantically involved, why didn't he just kiss her. Because at the back of his mind he's still being loyal to the "other girl" who saved her life, who is not Ariel in his head.
You taking every single comment on Ariel as a smear campaign is your agenda and not mine. I'm totally not interested in it.
You did compare Belle and Beast with Aurora and Philip. Don't you read what you write? You can re-read the criteria for selecting an option - it says this:
What was included in the date - dinner/walk/ride/town tour etc, the setting of the scene (forest/ballroom/garden/lake and how exotic/beautiful it is, the romantic emotions between the couple (not from entire movie but in the scene itself).
WHICH INCLUDES EMOTIONS and SETTING, read before you type an half educated comment.
And I'm sick and tired of telling you that i apologized in your article. It clearly hasn't gotten in your head. Evidently, it is you who has been hurt so badly that you can't just move on from your legendary brave article. I neither have the time nor the intention of living in your past. Who has asked you to counter argument when you are clearly incapable of holding a respectable argument. That's just funny, because i remember writing an apology after your comment that you disagreed.
I'll tell you what, you don't deserve that apology at all because you are so indecent that you didn't even reply to that and keep dragging it at every possible place you find. Move on! really, you need to.
And hadn't i told you the exact same thing when you were earlier complaining of "how tired you are being bullied and berated" because "i disgareed over your Merida article". Like how lamely repetitive.
My love for DP has nothing to do with you, get over yourself please.
Anyways..
Awkward flirting. o_o'
The other couples have more nice memories and moments together.
