PrueFever picked The Little Mermaid (1989):
Hello all. I’m doing a reverse countdown of Fanpop’s Favorite Disney Princess Movies. Reverse, meaning instead of picking your least favorite, you’ll have to pick your favorite. That way, we won’t be reading a lot of negative comments. 😉 Also, it would be great if you would/could give some comments as why you picked your movie. Both positive and negative. I’m sure some of our favorite movies will be voted out fast, but in that case, you can just pick your second favorite and so on as the polls comes up. I’m giving each poll a week for people to vote in, so every Monday I’ll be posting a new poll. And at the end, I’ll be posting an article with all the results for your reading pleasures. Enjoy and get voting! :D

Most of you guys know how obsessed I am with The Little Mermaid, but for those of you who don't, let me just say, I'm probably the biggest Mermaid Fan in Denmark! I love this movie so much, I even have 11 versions of it on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD's and Blu-Rays! My all-time favorite movie, Disney or not!

cruella picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937):
This is such an underrated, timeless classic. I absolutely love it, along with all the characters. If you guys know anything about me, you know that Snow White is my favorite Disney Princess, and of course that Grumpy is one of my all time favorite characters.

My second favorite is Beauty and Beast. It's a wonderful story with a lot of nostalgia.

Because I anticipate that it will get fewer votes than more popular picks: Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, and Mulan.

MaidofOrleans picked Beauty and the Beast (1991):
It's such a beautiful story about two social outcasts finding each other and supporting each other when no one else can see past their exteriors. People can only see the Beast as a monster, and can only see Belle as a beautiful but strange girl who will never fit in. Since Belle and the Beast understand one another, this allows them to see past the surface and find a caring man who is willing and eager to learn, and a passionate, ambitious woman who knows she can do better in life than what most people expect. Not only that, but the film was dedicated to its lyricist Howard Ashman, a gay man who died of AIDS only a few months before he could see the movie released in its final form. He knew what it was to be seen as a "beast" by most, to be an outcast, to be judged by nothing more than your exterior. He used this knowledge to craft the story and to show what happens when people listen to ignorant, close minded bullies such as Gaston. As a member of the LGTBQA+ community this hits particularly close to home for me. I love this movie because its message is so beautiful, and because it will always be relevant to someone. It is truly timeless.

zanhar1 picked The Little Mermaid (1989):
It's a toss between Mulan, Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast was my childhood favorite alongside Little Mirmaid. But Mulan is my favorite princess. In the end I have to go with Little Mermaid because of memories.

Sparklefairy375 picked Beauty and the Beast (1991):
I think it's most gorgeous, beautifully drawn Disney Princess movie so far. Characters are great especially two of main characters, great soundtrack, wonderful animation, and neat storyline.
The Little Mermaid is my second favorite, though.

AdelitaI picked Pocahontas (1995):
This is so easy! There is no animated movie I love as much as I love Pocahontas. This is a gorgeously animated movie with fabulous soundtrack by genius Alan Menken. It takes places in one of my favorite eras( 17th century). The heroine is amazing, the villain is awesome and the ending is very unique and touchy! Pocahontas will always be my favorite movie forever!

^That's really an unique choice. Never saw anyone that has Pocahontas as favorite movie before.

JungleQueen13 picked Pocahontas (1995):
I've always found it a shame that Pocahontas is so heavily criticised for being historically inaccurate, because aside from that it is such a beautiful film! I think most people would agree that it is visually stunning and has one of Disney's best soundtracks. The story is less popular, but it is still one of my favourites, as I find it has a good balance of drama and humour, and I love the main characters! Another important element is the messages in this film - mainly equality, respect and love. It's not easy to find a film with such important messages, and for this reason I believe this film is one of Disney's most underrated.
