All of them are heartbreaking but the others involve death, which is much sadder than a broken heart. Don't get me wrong, a broken heart is absolutely devastating, not to mention that she was going to become the property of a psychotic seawitch, but death is something that is much sadder.

wavesurf picked The dwarves crying because of Snow White’s death:
This one, Beast's, Eugene's, and Moana's bother me less. At least with death, you're no longer physically and mentally suffering. For Ariel, she believes that all of that physical and mental agony lies ahead of her--- which makes it sadder for me.

It was sad but not as sad as the others, in my opinion.

@wavesurf as someone who has felt that all I was going to feel was mental agony and has lost someone to death, personally I feel more heartbroken when a character dies because even though the person who died is no longer feeling pain, their loved ones will always be in pain. What Ariel is going through is awful and I feel terrible for her but I cry more watching Simba trying to wake Mufasa or Littlefoot’s mother telling him she’d always be with him. I lost my father 2 years ago to cancer and I didn’t get to see him one last time before he passed and to this day I’m still angry at myself and there’s still nights where I cry because I miss him so much

I find the others sadder (thought this scene is still sad).

wavesurf picked The dwarves crying because of Snow White’s death:
@BB2010: I've lost ALL of my grandparents ( one grandfather to heart failure before I met him, the other grandfather to kidney failure refusing dialysis; my two grandmothers died of sepsis, secondary to pneumonia from aspirating food). My favorite Aunt passed away suddenly in a car crash. The cousin-in-law I met the one time, who was so jovial, and with whom I shared an instant bond because of our shared dislike of heavy desserts? (Well, he died of a drug overdose). I was not there when they passed. I lost my music parents, too, a husband and wife duo ( one taught piano and the other taught violin; they both had cancer and I was deeply attached) and I was not there when they passed. I don't feel the same when characters in a movie, die. So I feel more sorry for Ariel than I do for Rapunzel, the dwarves, Moana, and Belle. Why? Because BROiNG *insert magical solution spell and everybody rises from the dead or their spirit lives on in Tala's case* I suppose it's because I wasn't really attached to Rapunzel, Moana, the dwarves, or to Belle. They just don't make me feel anything. And Simba was always arrogant as a child cub, so I never empathized with him, and when he's an adult, it isn't much better. Their survival pain is distant to me, so I don't feel the same way when they lose somebody.

I did the countdown participation for this far. But I'm going to skip the last four rounds, because I simply feel indifferent to the scenes in them depicting loss. I mean, I'm sad for each, but with each one I am at the same level of sadness. I clearly know that I felt more for Ariel than I did for any of them.

BB2010 picked Ariel crying at the pier:
And I’m sorry for your loss and just know I wasn’t trying to compare experiences in loss I was just saying even though we know everything is going to be okay for everyone including Ariel, I’m more sad watching most death scenes, especially based on the reactions of the living characters. All these death scenes are equally sad for me I’m mostly going to base my votes on what had a greater impact on me

@BB2010, I am so sorry for your dad. The mankind deserves so much better than cancer.
Moana‘s the saddest to me.
