Well, I sure didn't believe that he would go this far. No one did. I just kept a straight face and ran through the halls to my successivo class. Even though I knew I would just face più humility.
I got to my class and sat as far away from people as possible, did my work, and avoided all the looks. They had always told me I should be with him, and now he just has to be himself in all situations. Even with me.
I rush to math, my only class with him, and stood in the hall, waiting. Of course he came too soon and I had to do something. te just can't forgive something like that.
te just can't forgive him.
~
He was always there anytime I needed him. At every corner of every hall.
But he was a delinquent, all talk, no heart. He can make te fall in then just break the little box you're stuck in.
I parked my car and walked in my house, apartment...thing. Stupid parents that leave te with 200 grand and a note saying, "See te never. Bye, kid." I was only 14 when it happened, I'm now 17.
I walked into my little baby sister's room, she was only a mese old. My mother dumped her off when she was born. While I'm at school my neighbor watches her, my neighbor also thinks that I should be with him. What are the odds?
I walked up the steps to my room after I saw my sister fast asleep I sat.
It looked like one of those rooms in the Film where te have the big window on one side and a balcony behind it. I had the canopy letto and big mirror across from it, stereotypical, I know.
I sat on the letto and got my laptop. It was a picture of me, him, and my good friend, Bridgette. She was in the middle taking the picture, but this was before he went punk and all delinquent on us.
I set my phone down beside me and started doing my homework.
Hours went da and my phone started ringing, I looked and it was him.
I answered, "What do te want, Duncan?"
"Courtney, look, I didn't mean it. I didn't mean anything I said, te know me!"
"Sadly, I do know you. And I know that te are not the kind of person to be involved in so goodbye." I hung up the phone.
I went back to my work and heard a tapping at my window...door...thing.
I already knew who it was so I just kept my head down and focused on my work.
The tapping got più harsh until I turned my head to the window and looked.
Yup, it was him, standing there like an idiot.
I sighed and opened my door and walked onto the balcony.
"Courtney, I didn't mean it."
"How could te not have meant it? I mean, we were fake dating, then te just had to tell people. te just had to tell them a complete lie!"
"At least I emphasized the 'fake' in our relationship."
"So? te still told."
"What's so bad about me telling everyone? It's the truth!"
"It. Is. Not. True."
"Courtney, te know it's true. te know that te really like me."
"You just had to say it though, didn't you? te just had to stand on that lunch tavolo and yell, 'Me and Courtney aren't really dating. We're just doing this to please your sorry asses! But hey, we all know that Courtney is crazy for me, even though she has no parents, and a mese old kid doesn't mean she doesn't have time for a life!'. te just HAD to didn't you?"
"I did not say that!"
"You did too! I wrote it down!"
"Because you're just that way."
"Yes, because I'm that way. Duncan, face it, I don't like you. And telling everyone I have a kid, who is actually my SISTER, is not right!"
"You could've just detto that she was your sister!"
"I was too embarrassed because SOMEONE told everyone something that was a secret to me. Something no one was allowed to know!"
"Yet I knew, I knew what you're parents did and I knew about your sister. Hmm, I wonder why te would only tell me and not even Bridgette."
"Because I felt that I could trust you! But no. te just had to ruin every feeling I ever felt for you!"
Crap. I just detto it didn't I?
"I told you." He detto calmly. "I told te I told te I told you."
"And I wonder why te make the accusations that I like you."
"Why? Because I like you. See, I am open with it. Let's see if te can too."
"...What about te and Gwen?"
"Me and Gwen? te mean ancient history?"
"Last time we were really together te got with her. How do I know you're not going to do it again?"
"Because te can trust me." He took a step closer. "You know te can."
I took a small step closer, out of impulse. "What if I can't?"
He, in turn, took a larger step closer, closing the spazio between us, "Yes. te can."
"How can I forgive te though?
"This is how." He then kissed me.
