Has anyone else noticed how far ahead Mashima thinks?

Mashima has been thinking ahead for a lot of the arcs in Fairy Tail. Like in episode 73 (well before the Edolas arc) Gray is talking with Warren about Gildarts, and Cana has this little look to the side, as if she knows something they don't. I just wanted to make this to acknowledge Mashimas thinking and maybe bring in più examples?
