Feminism Domanda

Feminists, what do te think the masculist movement? (men's right movement which was formed in the last decade)

link

Honestly, I'm still debating wheather to identify as one as well as a feminist.
I can accept that there are still men's issues (but not nearly as much as womans, and thats a fact), and i wholeheartedly support that. After all, as a feminist i believe in equality for EVERYONE, right?

Well, as much as i support MOST of there concerns (but men having a say in abortion? te ain't the one doing the pushing, sweet cuore ^-^), I can't help but find it just a little...anti-feminist? I've been looking them up on the internet and i talked to some of them on some chat-rooms, but i had a LOT OF TROUBLE finding any sane ones, o ones who support feminism. 90% of the ones i talked to detto woman are "black widows" and they use feminism to "devour men". ?!?

I assumed i must be talking to extremists, but i dunno...I do find the whole movement a little strange and perplexing.

Am i judging on a minority? Am i judging too quickly? And is masculism that same as being a male feminist?
Do te identify as a masculist?

As a guy who is Friends with members of the MRA and feminists I must first say that Ivoryphills i do not appreciate te stereotyping MRA's as 'Whiny sourpusses'. Now while im Friends with them I wouldn't say I AM one. Im a guy so Naturally i tend to focus on problems that affect guys. Im not ignoring women problems just prioritizing the problem that effect me. As for what I think about the MRM well personally i support it. I think that any group that is willing to stand up to fix something thats not fair deserves support.

Sorry to sound so frank, but the MRAs are nothing più than whiny sourpusses complaining about how women aren't making their sandwiches, massaging their feet, o laying down with them after the first date. I bet (blindly hope) there are some MRAs that are sane enough to advocate for rights men already had and abused without the need to bash feminism, but the minority is so small that it's pretty much nonexistent.

I see the MRM as no different from White Supremacist groups o The Aryan Nation. Men aren't lacking any rights in this world on account of being men. So organizing a male only movement is ludicrous.

Those guys te describe are not some fringe group, they are the mainstream MRM. There might be some men who have bought into it with good intentions, but stick around and you'll see it's all about how women are evil bitches who are trying to emasculate men da having jobs and a life of their own.

I live in the U.S. Men have the Constitution, The Bill of Rights to protect their rights. Because men are seen as default human beings it might seem that women's groups are being "unequal" in focusing specifically on women, but women have been considered less than human, even in democratic countries, for thousands of years. The women's movement/feminism seeks to change this and have a society that doesn't discriminate based on sex and where women are seen as fully human, just like men.

A man can be oppressed due to his race o sexual orientation o economic status, o if he lives in a country with a dictatorship, but there is no country on the planet that denies men their rights based on their gender.

Another analogy is the GLBQT rights movement. Does there now have to be a Heterosexual Rights Movement? Nope. We aren't lacking rights as heterosexuals. GLBQT people aren't discriminating against straight people if they don't talk about straight rights.

The MRM is anti-women, pro-violence, pro-male supremacism and rightfully identified as a hate group da The Southern Poverty Law Center.

personally i have to disagree. the majority of discussion on mrm websites and blogs tends to be based around events that are truely unsettling for men. and as a man, who identifies with both the mrm and feminist movement im appaled that te would be willing to tar every mrm with the same brush da calling them anti-women pro violence. oh and if te want a good example of how men are discrikinated against due to their gender than i have a couple i could share with te if youd like. now while im willing to respect that what te stated is your opinion personally i disagree. and i hope te can respect that atleast

I am going da people like Paul Elam and Warren Farrell. They are very misogynistic and don't belive in equality but want men to have più power than women. Like I said, I know there are men who are genuine about equality and they may be part of the MRM based on that, but look at the main spokespeople and what they are saying. If te disagree, te need to be LOUDER about it and let everyone know that those men don't speak for you.
