It was like everything had been buried far underneath the ground. Nothing mattered anymore, she didn't care.
"Why...weren't te watching him?" she demanded. "Who was it? Who took him, where did he go? mostra me the tape on the security cameras."
Reddie grabbed her wrist, and dragged her over to where the security men worked in their dark office. It was all the way over the other side of the academy. The oversized campus didn't help much either.
When they finally reached the security office, Grace didn't bother to knock. She simply drew her claws and played with it in the lock. Once the door had clicked open, she practically ripped the thing off its hinges. Two men in the office looked up from their lunch and sodas.
"Show me all your tapes from today and yesterday." she ordered. Her expression was so dark, they didn't bother to hesitate. They knew who Grace was, she was all over the internet, not only at the school they worked at. They were fully aware of what she was capable of.
Flicking through the tapes on the spare screen they kept for re-watching tapes when something suspicious came up, Grace studied the screen carefully. If te looked closely, te could see a ring of bright blue forming around her pupils in her eyes.
"There." she detto suddenly, bending back up. In a view of the oval, where Daybreak usually grazed o laid down relaxing, in the background where a load of trees. "It's in monochrome, but if te look closely, te see eyes." she said, pointing. "One is different than the other, but they're of the same being."
The security men and Reddie bent down to level with the screen, and they could see eyes. That was the end of the tape.
Grace grabbed another, and shoved it into the video player after taking out the first. The being that possessed the eyes moved cautiously towards Daybreak, but enough so no più that its eyes remained viewable.
Daybreak hadn't noticed it.
Something white floated out of his head.
It moved over to the eyes.
It disappeared into darkness.
The eyes disappeared.
Daybreak was left motionless.
There was a bright flash.
And he was gone.
