I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men appearing in Game of Thrones season 6 | Watchers on the bacheca | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
has a penchant for bringing in their favorite music acts to appear on the show, and it appears that season 6 is no exception.
Photos snapped of filming in Girona, Spain this week captured a few members of the Icelandic indie act Of Monsters and Men filming inside the Sant Pere de Galligants monastery.
Eagle-eyed WotW reader Evan spotted the band members in the photos posted of season 6 shooting.
The two photos depict lead singer and guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, singer-guitarist Ragnar “Raggi” Þórhallsson, and drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson in costume, relaxing between scenes, just outside the monastery.
Nanna discussed the band’s love of fantasy and particularly GoT, announcing, “Yeah, oh my god, we love it. We’re all obsessed with
have included Sigur Rós, Mastodon, Will Champion of Coldplay, and Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol. Sigur Rós contributed a new version of “The Rains of Castamere” as part of their appearance of the show. It’s not yet known if Of Monsters and Men are performing on the show, or recording any music for it.

Awesome news! I hope they are playing it, or something, on the show.
Cool! I remember listening to their new album, and thought their song Thousand Eyes was really good and my mind went to Blood Raven and his Thousand Eyes and One. Seems like a good fit.
I quite enjoyed their hit song “Little Talks” but haven’t kept up with them afterwards. Knowing just that one über-optimistic song, it’s difficult to imagine them fitting in the world of GOT
I read the headline and thought “a band of monsters and men” meant wights riding ice spiders or something cool like that. The word Icelandic further led me in the wrong direction. The more I read I realized I was wrong but that’s probably only because D and D are saving CGI budget for undead krakken! Be afraid
So are they going to be Braavosi singers based on the woman’s hairstyle? I do not think we have seen clothes quite like this in the show but we have not seen that much of Braavosi fashion for me to really recognize and the show has a new costume designer anyway.
MASTODON WAS MENTIONED! SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND THUNDEEEEER!!!!!!
Never listened to Of Monsters and Men. I’ll check them out.

You know who would be the lead-singer of that band, right? Our favorite White Walker…Jim-Bob.
Looks part of the Braavosi stage troupe? I’d love a version of My Featherbed if its going to be in Arya’s story. Could work considering the ‘yellow silk’ is used as a wink towards Gendry’s Baratheon heritage, if its used in the play about Robert and given a double meaning.
It seems like the musicians are always involved in big scenes – The Red Wedding, The Purple Wedding, Hardhome… I wonder if that tradition will continue or if it will just be a normal show scene.
I actually like it – it doesn’t make sense, and in a way that makes it mysterious. It actually could make a nice title for a fantasy novel as well IMO. (Alliterations get boring after a while…)
All I think about when I see this band’s name is rabbits.
I’m debating who John Malkovich could play in GoT, but I can’t think of a decent role for him (apart from ones that have already been cast).
I could see him playin illyn Payne even tho he would have no words
Of roles not yet cast, maybe Marwyn? With is range, he could have played so many different characters. In fact, not that I don’t think the casting is perfect, because I do, but he could have played Randyll Tarly.
I could imagine their voices fitting in within the show, not so much their music. Still love the band.
The Hollywood Reporter polled over 2800 Hollywood professionals (including 779 actors, 365 producers and 268 directors) and published the list of Hollywood’s 100 favorite TV shows. GOT is № 4.
Yeah, Randyll Tarly was my idea. I’m not disappointed with James Faulkner though!
I heard the other day that Guy Garvey (Elbow) was originally going to be the pit announcer last year. It’s nice that these sort of musicians get to cameo on the show. They’re not big enough names to really distract the audience, but are good for those of us who like to spot these sorts of things.
