While you sit and sadly ponder that thought while staring into the middle distance, spare a thought for the show\'s huge cast roster, some of whom have been with the show since the beginning. And some of whom were mere children when they started. How are they going to hack it ending?

Sophie told Digital Spy that she is very much NOT looking forward to the end of the show, though we reckon she\'ll be fine - what with that whole
She said: "Oh god, it\'s horrible. It\'s been such a safety net for me. Knowing it\'s coming to an end, I\'m kind of at a loss as to what to do with myself. It has been my whole life and whole adolescence, and it\'ll be like walking on a tightrope without a harness. It\'ll be really scary."
that she "might slip into a deep, deep depression because I won\'t know what to do with myself
Kit isn\'t exactly sobbing into his King of the North cloak, but he\'s feeling rather wistful about his time remaining on the show.
. "This mammoth, Goliath event in my life, which has been so much of what my 20s are, is going to come to an end.
"I think I\'m going to really make the effort in these next two years to enjoy every moment of it, because I don\'t know when I\'ll get something like this coming around again."
While Maisie is showing signs of grief, she offers more signs of hope when compared to her onscreen older sister.
: "At the end of the read through of this season, I sat there thinking, \'God, they are setting up for the end.\' It was an amazing moment because for so long we\'ve been working from season to season not knowing when it is going to end.
"It\'s been like walking up a hill. Every season we have been looking up to the next season, and now it feels like we are looking back down and are coming down to the end."
Emilia isn\'t exactly pleased that the show is about to end, but she seems more excited about what\'s on the horizon after saying goodbye to Westeros for good.
. "It\'s not going to be nice when the show ends, obviously. It\'s going to be huge, epic. But I\'m excited. The landscape\'s getting exciting and different and we have more time to do it.
"I just want the empowerment of people watching a character like this to
light a spark in their brain, like, \'No, you don\'t need to have dragons to be a badass in your day-to-day life.\' Who doesn\'t love a hero? And there\'s so many on the show. So I hope
that\'s what the show will leave."
We haven\'t seen Gendry for bloody ages, but Joe told Digital Spy that he\'d love to return before the show ends, and that it\'s the right decision to conclude it after eight seasons.
"There\'s a lot of unanswered questions about Gendry and the longer it goes on, the more obvious his absence becomes," he said.
"I mean, God, the amount of flippin\' memes I get sent on Twitter... whether they\'ll bow to that pressure or not, I don\'t know. But fingers crossed, because it\'d be lovely to go back.
"There are inevitably going to be fans that are disappointed they\'re not going to get as many episodes as they\'re used to, and that there is an end in sight, but I think it should be a positive thing.
"How many series have been eked out for too long and really lost their momentum? I think it shows a real bravery and a confidence in their story arc, that they\'re willing to trim these seasons down and just say \'Right, there\'s going to be two more - that\'s it\'."
Daniel told Digital Spy that he will definitely miss playing nice guy Pod, but he also sounds as if he has come to terms with the inevitable closure.
"It was always going to happen, wasn\'t it?" he said of the show ending. "But it is sad. Nobody expected it to be as successful as it\'s been. It\'s just been a bit of a freak social phenomenon, unlike anything else that\'s ever been on television.
"You can\'t predict that, but to have worked on something that\'s so well-written and so well-directed - and so well-made by everybody - it\'s a real joy to be in that company and to have made so many wonderful relationships.
"So it will be sad when it\'s not there, but that is the life of an actor. I\'ve been very lucky to have this amount of time getting to know a character - and it was always going to end."
Isaac has grown up before our eyes, and he\'s very much not looking forward to what comes after the Iron Throne is crowned once and for all. He got deep.
He said: "It\'s kind of like, you don\'t really want it to end. We really are like a family. For many of us, it\'s been seven years of our lives that we\'ve been doing this.
"Every year it\'s become like clockwork and a regular part of our existences, so to think that it\'s all going to end I think there will be many an existential crisis for most of us."
Jacob was as stoic as his character when he spoke to Digital Spy about the end, deciding to stay realistic and not assume that he\'ll survive by the finale.
"As a fan of the show I\'m sad. I\'ll miss it. But as someone in it... who knows," he said.
"I might not make it past the first episode of the next season for all I know. I can\'t be like, \'Oh, we\'ve only got two seasons left!\' Because I might not even make it that far.
"We haven\'t been given a script yet so I have no idea what\'s going to happen."
For now, Iain is focusing more on whether Jorah will survive past season 7, let alone the whole of season 8 too.
: "I feel very lucky. It\'s been a treat to work on. David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the showrunners, the writers and producers, are very cool and very good fun to be around.
"And I\'ve noticed for everyone involved, for Dan and David especially, confidence surging though each season as it has grown in popularity. And that\'s nice from the position we all started in.
"But now there\'s something horrible creeping up my wrist [Greyscale] and all I can say is fingers crossed I\'ll still be alive."
