That evening was an especially rainy evening.

Two police cars were parked just outside Damion and Hannah's home with their blue and red flashers flaring brilliantly through the rain.

Inside the house, Damion stood in the kitchen, telling the police officers everything he knew, who were, in turn, Scrivere down everything he was saying on their clipboards.

Hannah was sitting on the superiore, in alto of the staircase intently listening to every word that was being said, all the while, hearing the rain outside. What a de-stressing giorno this has been, she thought to herself sarcastically. She then quietly sighed.

"And te detto te saw no one when te ran outside?" an officer asked Damion, seeking clarification.

"That's correct, there was no one around the car when I ran outside. I heard the crash of what I assume was the windshield, and when I ran outside, I didn't see anyone." He responded.

"And where, again, were te when te heard the crash?" the other officer asked.

"Ah, I was, up stairs in the bedroom with my girlfriend." He said, embarrassed slightly. The officers didn't find it to be awkward o embarrassing, however, and they wrote it down just the same.

"Okay, well, much thank te to te and your girlfriend, Mr. Keller. We'll get these reports sent in as soon as we can, and we'll call te if we find any leads that would explain why someone would target te and your property." The first officer concluded.

"What should I do with the car in the meantime?" Damion asked.

"We'll call a tow truck to come pick it up for you." The officer concluded. "From there, we'll need to have it in our vicinity to examine it for possible prints o other sustainable evidence." The other added.

There were a few più thank yous and a couple final goodbyes, and just like that, the cops pulled out and headed back to the station. Hannah heard the front door close and saw Damion approach the stairs and begin walking up. He stopped when he saw Hannah sitting at the top.

"Oh. Hey, love, te frightened me for a second." He chuckled tiredly. "Are te alright?"

She sighed and forced a weak smile at him. "Yeah, I'm good. I just.. I just wish this didn't happen, te know?"

Damion walked up the remaining steps and sat down beside her. "I know what te mean. But, it's not like we could see any of this coming. And at least whoever had a problem with me took out their anger on my car rather than on myself, o God forbid, you. A car is replaceable. You're not." He detto as he snuggled up on her side.

Hannah smiled a bit. "Oh, I called the insurance while te were talking to the officers, and they detto they would be able to cover most, if not all, of the cost being that te had a good driving record. So that's a huge, huge plus~"

"Oh, that.. that's fantastic news, darling!" He detto cheerfully as he stood up. But after he turned around and headed for the bedroom, Hannah saw his smile fade, and a frown found his face. Her gaze remained on him.

"Baby, are te alright?" She inquired.

Damion turned around. "Why yes, why shouldn't I be?"

"Because te had a frowny face when te got up and frowny faces aren't good for you." Hannah joked as she rose to her feet and joined him in the hallway.

Damion smiled a bit. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just.. I just worry."

"Worry?"

"I worry for these people."

Hannah was confused. "What people?"

"The people who think totaling a stranger's car is okay. The people who think they can prevent me from entering into my car. The people who think they can lie to me, think they can berate me, think they can judge me. I worry not for their safety, I worry about myself doing something about them. I worry about losing my composure and dishing back what they inflicted on me, and ultimately going too far." He told her. "And I can't afford to go too far."

Damion's words frightened Hannah a bit, but she ultimately knew where he was coming from. And it did beg the domanda and inquiry of who could have possibly done this. Who could have had such a problem with Damion that they would've thought to ruin his car and run just before he could see them? Who could've been so angry at him that they thought resulting to this would have equaled out the playing field?

And then it hit her. "You.. te don't think it could've been that huge man from last night, do you?"

Damion squinted. "That hot-headed, overly buffed up buffoon of a burger flipper? The man who thought it was his right to touch my vehicle and dared to point fingers at me for your attack? Him?"

"Well. Yeah.. I mean, te kinda threw the guy on the ground. Maybe he was upset at you?"

"I'd never even thought.. Hold on for a second." Damion concluded as he quickly hurried back down the stairs. He darted into the cucina and grabbed the telephone on the bacheca and dialed up the police station.

A woman answered the phone. "Central City Police Station, how may we help you?"

"Yes, my name is Dr. Damion Keller, and I believe I have a very valuable update for my case."

Jackson was on the other side of the city in no time at all with the help of the lack of traffic due to the rain. As it seemed, they were back in the area that they were all familiar with within 30 minutes; the Slums that they called their home Sweet Home. One da one, he dropped off each man who rode with him that giorno at their respectful homes, and Kal happened to be the last stop. He opened his door when Jackson decided to speak to him.

"Today was a mess on your part." Jackson uttered. "And I hope te realize I only helped te back to my car b'cause if they found you, te probably would've dato the whole operation away, b'cause of how much a pussy te actually are."

Kal looked down at his dirtied pants and scraped up arms. Oh, how his body was hurting and he just wanted to get out of the car and skip the lecture. But, of course, he couldn't let that show.

"I know." He detto sadly.

"Say it." Jackson edged on. "Say you're a pussy."

"Wh--"

"SAY IT. SAY YOU'RE A PUSSY AND te KNOW IT." He screamed.

"I'm a pussy and I know it." Kal retorted, submissively.

"Good, now get outta my car. te damn fool." Jackson detto as he turned back around to his steering wheel. "Since te FAILED today, your addition to the gang is postponed. te also will not get paid for two months."

"Wh-two months?! Sir, I can't afford to-!"

Jackson then shoved him out of the car with all of his might and sped off into the night, leaving Kal on the sidewalk in pain. His body was still sore from the fall from earlier and the wet, hard pavement wasn't exactly good for the hurt he was experiencing. But he picked himself up anyway and began making his way toward his apartment building, which read "Kavana Havenscent Complex" on the sign in the yardground near the front.

But it commonly went da K-Haven.

Slowly, Maria's eyes slowly peeked open as she found herself on her side, snuggled up to a cuscino in a dimly lit bedroom. She gently stretched her arms out and took one huge yawn which caused her to feel the presence behind her on the other side of the bed. She had fallen asleep with Kal that night. So, sleepily, she turned herself on her other side and slid her hand on superiore, in alto of Kal's bare chest, as he was laying on his back, with his arms nestled loosely behind his head. Maria felt the soft rising and falling of his chest, and nearly began to fall asleep again when an inquiring question...

As Kal trotted with a limp up the slight incline of the concrete path to K-Haven, the rain lend no mercy to his current state. The rain kept pouring, the cracking, constant booms of thunder kept sounding, and the momentary bursts of vast, intricate lightning that lit up the black sky like an exploding lightbulb continued to shriek.

Kal's black sneakers made sloshing noises every time he put pressure on one foot, but at this moment, soaked shoes were the least of his long lista of concerns. How humiliated he was da the sheer satisfaction Jackson drew from he and his compliant obedience. How badly...

That following morning was a morning like no other, and it felt so surreal that Maria questioned if what she saw a few hours prior was even real, even though she knew it was.

All those pictures. All those women. They kept flashing continually in the back of Maria's head like a broken film. And every time she tried to turn it off, to just reroute her thoughts for a few minutes, it came back. It always came back.

And it was for that very reason why she couldn't even turn and look at him in that bed. She couldn't turn herself to focus on the man she devoted her entire, young life to--the man who...

"Alright, miss Anais, it looks like you're coming along nicely in your overview." a female nurse detto energetically as she skimmed over a few pages attached to a marked up clipboard.

"Zara." the recipient in the chair blankly responded.

"I'm sorry?"

The girl sighed frustratedly and adjusted herself in the chair, gripping the handles as her eyes locked onto the nurse's. "My name, it's Zara, I don't go da Anais anymore. I told the other nurse that and the one before that--both of them detto they would change it, and clearly, neither did."

"O-oh! Well, let me be the break in the chain then." the nurse...
