Sauron is one of these. Sauron was made second in command to Morgoth. But when Morgoth died in the first age, Sauron took over Morgoth's role for the second and third ages. And then... well, you know about the rings and stuff. Dunno why any of you picked Voldemort or Bellatrix. Compared to Sauron, they're a baby.
