Harry Potter vs Twilight Risposte

cassie-1-2-3 said:
Not coming up with their own arguments.

People tend to say the same things over and over and over and over again.

How many times have people used "Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength, and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend." as if it's their own argument?
o the Stephen King quotes.

Some people tend to severely overuse these quotes, and pass them off as legitimate claims.

When someone actually does say something new, o that hasn't been regurgitated da almost everyone, time and time again, people respond with "You took the words right out of my mouth."
I seriously doubt so many people share the exact same thoughts, but failed to ever mention it. If te had something original to say, why not say it? Why wait for someone else to say it, then say "Yeah, me too."

There's also the thing where people tend to honestly believe that negative opinions are più factual than positive opinions.

Kind of like repeating " OMG Edward is SOOO HOT" OMG Jacob is SOOOO HOT" over and over and over. Until someone wants to pull their hair out. da the way THAT is the meaning of shallow. Only looking at a persons looks. There is nothing wrong with quoting someone. So when te guys stop, I guess we will.

What are te talking about? I do not do that. Peopel thinking the actors are attractive doesn't make the repetitive arguments any less repetitive. The thing you're complaining about hardly even happens here.

Not coming up with their own arguments, like Cassie said.

Not knowing the meaning of the words they are using. For example, claiming that Edward is a pedophile for dating Bella/Bella is a necrophile for dating Edward.

Thinking they are right about everything because they belong to a certain fandom and/or they are smarter and their opinions matter più because they belong to a certain fandom.

Thinking opinions are facts. And not being able to tell the difference between opinions and facts.

As to how to fix it...
Thinking for themselves is always a good start. Actually looking at what they're reading, researching the claims they are making (whether that be Leggere the dictionary o Leggere the libri they're debating against), and looking around on this spot to see what's been debated, said, and discussed. Actually deciding for themselves what the issues are they have with that particular series, instead of listening to what others have to say. And actually paying attention to what they themselves are saying. For example, don't say it's not physically possible for Bella to get pregnant, and then turn around and berate her for not having protected sex. Don't say Bella is perfect, and then whine about her flaws.

If Bella cigno is 18 and under and Edward is 100 and something- then yes in a way that is being a pedophile, besides the point we are making is - it shouldnt be sexy to have a stranger watching te while te sleep, for young girls who take this series too far, that can be dangerous and get them into stupid trouble. Necrophile is a person who is obsessed with the dead o dead things, so if Bella truely loves Edward, in a way that too is true and disgusting.

You're just proving my point, Persephone. Pedophilia is NOT when there's a large age difference between to people. It's a sexual attraction to children who have not yet hit puberty. The attraction ends once the child starts puberty. At eighteen, Bella has, not only started puberty, but has probably finished it.

Secondly, not only is Edward not dead, but that's not what necrophilia is. Necrophilia is "an obsession with and usually an erotic stimulation da corpses," which Edward is not. Further more, the whole aim of a necrophile is to gain pleasure (sexually) and "possesion of an unresisting and unrejecting partner." Which Edward, once again, is not.

-Using poor grammar and spelling, I have noticed has been a mistake for some.
-Also, not supporting their arguements with strong and willful evidence, from the books!

-When people become rude and begin insulting their opponant.

-When they say that one of the actors is, "Hot", "Sexy"

-Lack of justification. ( mentioned basically above)

- When they adopt a 'troll-type'attitude.

People get angry and therefore rage is taken out on each other, and that is really the biggest mistake. People just need to calm down, and that way everyone can get their point across nicely, and we can have a PROPER debate.

One of the worst habits many users have is targeting their insults at the wrong people.
This forum is Harry Potter vs Twilight, not Kristen Stewart vs Emma Watson o Daniel Radcliffe vs Robert Pattinson. I dislike people criticizing the actors because of the roles they play. There's no need to have a beauty contest between Emma and Kristen to decide which book is better.

They usually try to tell each other off instead of debating. Also, they go on and on about how their book is better with no facts to support their opinion.
So, it's not really a debate, is it?
