Harry Potter Domanda

In the Deathly Hallows movie, am I the only one that noticed...

The outfits/uniforms worn da the evil Ministry members/Death Eaters resembled the Nazi uniforms? I noticed it in the scene when Harry, Ron and Hermione broke in to the Ministry, but my friend didn't realise until I pointed it out.

Well I haven't yet seen the movie however, I did notice the 'Nazi-like' uniforms in clips of the ministry scene from the trailer and also heard a reviewer mentioning it. I think it should be contribute to a very powerful scene and emphasise how f**ked up the ministry has become, weeding out muggles the same way the Nazi's did with the Jews.

I did notice that! Especially with the red armband, and all. A swastika was all te needed to turn it into Nazi rule.

Yeah it was the armband that made me notice it the most. I don't think I would've dato it a secondo thought otherwise.

Im not seeing it until successivo weekend, But - over the years whenever ive talked about the libri to someone who hasnt read them, ive always detto "imagine if Hitler & the Nazi's had magical powers, well, thats what Voldemort and the Death Eaters are like". so makes sense to me the outfits would be similar.

Yeah, I noticed it too. I'm not sure because I saw the movie at midnight, so I was a little out of it, but it also looked like there was propaganda similar to what the Nazi had in Umbridge's drawer. I could be wrong though.

I noticed this as well. I also found it interesting that Runcorn, the man being impersonated da Harry, also has a very Nazi-ish costume, from the long black cappotto to the pin on the lapel. I don't think the cotumer's choices were particularly subtle, but were certainly effective in making the state of the ministry clear.
I remember Leggere that Rowling read about Nazi methods of oppressing and chasing Jews and other, shall we say, "undesirables," after completeing the final book. She was shocked da how similar the Death Eater's methods were to the methods used da the Nazis.

It struck me, yes, especially in DH part 1, with Runcorn (Harry in Polyjuice). He looks like a Gestapo officer with his long trenchcoat. I think this was the filmmakers' intention. After all, people were arrested on "blood" grounds, like the Jews, the Roms and other groups had been da the Nazis in the 30s/40s.

Also, in DH part 2, I loved when Neville and Seamus blew up the bridge. Typical Resistance group action. We had a lot of this in France during WW2. The same goes for when Harry is back in the RoR, when Neville instructs Nigel to inform da radio (Potterwatch) that "the lightning has struck, I repeat, the lightning has struck". There also, typical coded message like the ones the Resistance used during WW2.

(Yes, I know, I'm a history buff. But I believe that when one knows their history, they may not repeat the same mistakes.)

Cause I do agree with te about knowing your history. I read a quote one time that detto something along the lines of "Life is the only teacher that gives te the test first and lets te study afterwards...."

I agree with your quote : Life presents plates for us to eat up to the moment we really digest it. Until that moment, life presents the plates again and again, spiced up più and more, till we eat it all up. That's true both on an individual and collective level.
