Who is better with Lily really?

This domanda has really bothered me
But personally i think it shud have been James only
I mean,in the start,Lily liked Snape but hated James
but there was such a drastic change in the end;Lily liked James but hated Snape
James matured himself for Lily and changed his personality COMPLETELY and i am not insulting Snape,but if u say tht Snape spent his whole life being devoted to her and protecting her son,i wud also say tht James tried to fight voldemort to keep Lily safe
and completely agreed to the fact tht if it had not been James there wud be no harry potter
instead a Harry Snape! urgh! i hate it!
