If she hadn't been caught for torturing the Longbottoms, she wouldn't have been sent to Azkaban (for the sake of argument, lets say she didn't get caught for anything else either), therefore couldn't have escaped, and probably would've spent her time trying to find Voldy again and bring him back. If she'd managed to do all the things Wormtail did in GoF before then (well, let's face it, that is one determined broad), Voldemort would've returned to power way before the fourth book, and everything would've been changed. More lives lost, possibly a few originally killed spared, and ohgod, what if she'd reproduced? =P By that long, extremely hypothetical scenario, I mean that Bella is definitely important to the series. She's affected almost everyone (think of the people & families of the people she's tortured/maimed/killed) and the series would be veeery different without her. posted più di un anno fa.

She's an unwieldy chaotic force that acts as a symbol for impending doom. However, she's more driven, she offers no negotiations and she means your death is imminent. That's why Hermione hated being her...any other death eater probably would have been more pleasant. So she may not be a major character and not offered great depth, but she represents a relentless evil force. Probably even scarier than Voldemort because she lacks the life-long trauma that characterizes Voldemort and may yield some sympathy.
