I was just wondering what other people thought about this? I think most of the casting in the films has been brilliant, but some of the actors have totally changed how I think about the characters when I read the books, does that happen to anyone else? I picked Rupert Grint cos I think he plays Ron brilliantly, just as I imagined him when reading the books, and I also don't think he gets the amount of attention he deserves! Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Radcliffe as Harry, cos thats not how I imagined him in the books! If I hadn't picked Ron, Hagrid would have been next, and then McGonagall. What does everyone else think??

After Ron, I would have said Snape and then the Richard Harris Dumbledore.

Some do very good, mostly the adults, but I have to say that Alan Rickman is brilliant. He is just like Snape is supposed to be, it also helps that he is an amazing actor anyway.

After seeing OOTP today, I think Tonks and Luna are great !

What about Voldemort? I would add him myself but I can't remember the actors name. But he was AMAZING in GoF (haven't seen OotP yet)i was SO happy when I saw the graveyard scene it was just amazing! He is the best! But Hagrid is wonderful too.
I don't think Radcliffe is very good either - he's a good actor - but I'm just not convinced he's Harry.

I think Maggie Smith does the best job as McGonagall in the movie. Luna was great casting too, though! :D

Also Alan Rickman too.

I dunno, most of them are different, but I expect that. There are some that are totally different, but the old Dumbledore was perfect!

Well, none of them are exactly as I imagined the characters but the actors who played their characters best are Alan Rickman, Evanna Lynch, Imelda Staunton and Helen/Helena Bonham Carter

Ron is almost exactly how I pictured him.

They all do a good job.. I can't really remember that well how I imagined them before the first movie came out..
But harry hermione and ron are all pretty similar to what I imagined.. and mostly everyone..

I do miss richard harris as dumbledore though..

I think Maggie Smith is fantastic. After Maggie it would have to be Evanna with Luna!

I was amazed.. she was perfect for Luna.. I thought I was going to be disappointed but was amazed! Evanna was perfect for Luna!

i think luna and snape (what a hard role to play, the way they talk; perfect), mcgonagall, hagrid, ron and the original dumbledore play their roles amazingly well. Emma over exaggerates in the films as Hermione, in my opinion. Michael Gambon plays Dumbledore... not at all how I imagined. Maybe their roles are written that way and they can't help it, though.

love pretty much all of the cast but since luna is so strange I thought they would cast her terribly but she did really good.

I really would chose Snape, Luna, Hagrid, and McGonagall, all four portray their characters exactly as i imagine. I'd say Ron is done really well by Rupert but its the script that messes up the charcter by only showing his bad sides (until OOTP) and he's way too short for how tall Ron is supposed to be. I also hate the current Dumbledore, he makes his character too rough, he basically shoved harry into the wall in GOF! Bellatrix turned out quite well too.

I think the best are: Snape, Dumbledore (the 1st one), Luna, McGonagall, Hagrid and Lucius Malfoy.

Actually all of them bring their characters well! But, I'm going for Emma and especially Helena!

I can't just pick one, they're all fantastic! Except Nat Tena gets hardly any screen time so I don't really know and Michael Gambon isn't half as good as Richard Harris was, which says a lot, 'cause he's still fantastic.

Alan Rickman is amazing too, but since there have been two Dumbledores, I felt obliged to pick Richard Harris, since his calm, tittering demeanor yet with a fire behind his eyes is exactly how I imagined Dumbledore.

Definitely!!!! You see Lupin is very Kind, down to earth and doesn't like hurting others, Like when James & Sirius tease Snape you realize that Lupin is not very comfortable with it but to scared to tell his friends.

In the movie Lupin is very Calm, Nice, Serious but in good way unlike Sirius is a complete joker from the first minute you meet him :)

Also Snape, Definitely too.

Robbie and Evanna are pretty much the same, too. Bellatrix I actually like BETTER in the movies. Helena made her even crazier and deranged, in my opinion.

Alan Rickman was great; he was just a little old.

Honestly, they ALL are pretty great. With the exception of Bonnie. Book Ginny and Movie Ginny are like two different people to me.

Alan Rickman is pure excellent as Snape, he is one of the only actors that I picture as the character when I read the books and its a crime that they dont show him as much in the films as they should, Robbie Coltrane is also just perfect for Hagrid, hes exactly as I pictured, Evanna Lynch is about as perfect as you can get for Luna although I picture her just a little bit different mostly because most of her scenes in the movies dont match her book scenes at all, I pictured Dumbledore just like Richard Harris except with more energy, since Harris was pretty old when he portrayed Dumbledore, Also Helena Boham Carter is just great as Bellatrix, in fact her movie portrayal might just be better than the book version, Im not sure which Bellatrix I like better they are both so excellent! Jason Isaacs is just spot on as Lucius, Tom Felton, Maggie Smith, and Ralph Fiennes are also great with their respective characters with just slight differences to how I imagine them! Besides those I dont picture any of the characters as they are in the movies

I'm gonna have to go with Evanna Lynch as Luna. Shes so pure in spirit and shes very different. I also think that Helen McCory does good as Narcissa,Tom Felton does excellent as Draco,Allan Rickman is excellent as Snape, and Helena Bonham Carter does great as Bellatrix.

Except I visioned Bellatrix to have stright hair. Alan did great too.

I'm not going to pick one because several of them stayed so true to their characters. Rickman-Snape, Smith-McGonagall, Harris-Dumbledore, Lynch-Luna, Thompson-Trelawney, Watson-Hermione, and Grint-Ron.

The casting was great. Everybody did a perfect job, except for Michael Gambon as Dumbledore and Brendan Gleeson as Mad-Eye Moody...I had imagined them completely different.Richard Harris was the perfect Dumbledore :(

Quite a lot of them, actually! Snape is exactly as I imagined him. Both Dumbledores are good but Richard's portrayal was closer to the one in my imagination. Hagrid and Sirius were pretty much spot-on too.

Emma Watson- Hermione is my favorite but Evanna Lynch did a great job of portraying the Luna from the book. Also Alan Rickman- Snape and both Dumbledores.
