how can you pick harry - i hated krum!

Fleur was such a twit. She performed so poorly that I kept thinking how could she be the best her school had to offer?

but think about it this way, if she was the best, how bad the rest of them have to be :S

Fleur wasnt that bad. Put yourself into her shoes, how would you perform if you were in that situation? She was brave and probably braver than alot of the girls at her school who were mostly all "girly girls" that probably only care about boys and makeup. Sorry but I dont like Fleur much but it doesnt mean shes a bad contestant.

The reason I chose Harry was because.. well.. I dunno. I dont dislike him, but I think its because I couldnt really choose anyway, so I just chose the one who SHOULDNT be a contestant out of all of them. Its not fair on the other 3 (especially Fleur/Krum since Cedric goes to the same school) but I do like Harry.

@Mongoose- but that's my point! It was not a very good school if she was one of the best students they had to offer. I don't think 'girliness' should denote a lack of knowledge/skill with magic.

If there's any character that I'm disappointed that JK wrote the way she did, it's Fleur. Not to be feminist, but she was the only female contestant and she was so over-the-top feminine and incompetent that she actually made me angry. It's fine if she's pretty and girly and only cares about her looks...but she could have been a little more of a threat to the other contestants. But she was never even in the running. Femininity is not the antithesis to practical skills.

Fleur just annoys me no end. Shes just like little miss perfect, soooo annoying and fake. Shes the one character I've never been able to like, or really believe.

Not that I dislike Krum, I just like the others better :P

And I know Fleur gets a lot of hate, but she's got a fan in me :)
She may be annoying, a princess, and rude, but in the end I think she's a good person.

In the book she seemed really stuck up and plain annoying. The others I liked, I loved Cedric, and I really liked Krum, and ofcourse I love Harry.

That was hard really. I really liked Fleur. She came off stuck up in the beginning but after the second task she was alot kinder. I picked her though because I think she did perform the worst in the tasks. I kinda wished she would've been more kick ass being the only girl and all.

Yeah, I don't have anything against her personally...she proved in the end that she was a decent human being. Especially with how she behaved with Bill after he was attacked by Greyback.

But I am severely disappointed with the way she performed in the tournament...like I said it actually makes me angry. She could have been a better contestant and still lost to the others. I don't see why JK chose to write her as so incompetent. It just doesn't make sense to me.

When I was reading the book for the first time, I was rooting for her to do good! (but Harry do BETTER, of course) Because I was happy that a girl was competing against 3 boys :) But, she ended up being the worst competetor and ruined that whole idea :P
