If you\'ve ever wanted to watch a play based around One Direction\'s Harry Styles, then book a train ticket and head over to London in the next week, because your dreams have finally been realised.
Playwright and actress Caitlin McEwan\'s brainchild will revolve around two university students obsessed with Harry; looking at how their passion for both him and the band affects their friendship and lives.
13 times One Direction news stories sounded like...
In an interview with Now, Caitlin explains that she did a lot of research to make sure the show was accurate as possible: "We did some interviews with fans of One Direction and other boybands and we wanted to portray their experience honestly," she said.
"They do some extreme things, but they acknowledge that they are extreme. But also there is an element of fandom bringing people together which we touch on in the play."
Adding that there\'s not much of a difference between loving Harry and loving a football team, she continued: "In essence, being part of a fandom is just like supporting a football team: it\'s a part of your identity, and it occupies a similar amount of your time, yet as a culture we seem to condemn you more if you love Harry Styles than if you love Arsenal."
Explaining what she wants people to take from the show, she said: "The show is trying to ask some questions about the way we interact with our idols and the problems involved with having no boundaries in your relationship with them.
"I think there are flaws in the system of fandom, but I\'ll leave them up to the audience to speculate on exactly what they are, and how we can combat them. But also it\'s a story about female friendship, being at university and not really knowing yourself."
As for whether the main man himself will show up, a bunch of invites have been sent over to Harry\'s Twitter account, but he\'s not yet replied: "I\'m still holding out hope. The dream is that he does a surprise cameo at the end but as of yet we\'ve had no luck," says Caitlyn.
The show is set to make its stage debut in London on April 11 at Theatre N16, Balham
