"And no wonder we couldn't find Flamel in that Study of recente Developments in Wizardry," detto Ron. "He's not exactly recente if he's six hundred and sixty-five, is he?"

"It's what my mum calls them," Ron muttered, his ears going red.

But Ron was staring at Hermione as though suddenly seeing her in a whole new light.

"Oh well spotted," she detto acidly.

Harry and Ron both whipped round, but Hermione detto loudly, waving to somebody over Malfoy’s shoulder, "Hello, Professor Moody!"
Malfoy went pale and jumped backward, looking wildly around for Moody, but he was still up at the staff table, finishing his stew.
"Twitchy little ferret, aren’t you, Malfoy?" detto Hermione scathingly, and she, Harry, and Ron went up the marble staircase laughing heartily.

"Who's Kreacher?"
"The house-elf who lives here," detto Ron. "Nutter. Never met one like him."
"He is not a nutter," detto Hermione.
"His life's ambition is to have his head cut off and stuck up on a plaque like his mother," detto Ron. "Is that normal, Hermione?"

They were so busy that Hermione had stopped knitting elf hats and was fretting that she was down to her last three. "All those poor elves I haven't set free yet, having to stay over during Natale because there aren't enough hats!"

"Ouch - ow - geroff! What the - ? Hermione - OW!"
"You - complete - arse - Ronald - Weasley!"
She punctuated every word with a blow: Ron backed away, shielding his head as Hermione advanced.
"You - crawl - back - here - after - weeks - and - weeks - oh, where's my wand?"
