Mohinder Surresh:
- "In recente days, a seemingly random group of individuals has emerged with what can only be described as "special" abilities. Although unaware of it now, these individuals will not only save the world, but change it forever. This transformation from ordinary to extraordinary will not occur overnight. Every story has a beginning. Volume One of their epic tale begins here..."
- "When we embrace what lies within, our potential knows no limit. The future is filled with promise. The present, rife with expectation. But when we deny our instinct and struggle against our deepest urges, uncertainty begins. Where does this path lead? When will the changes end? Is this transformation a gift... o a curse? And for those that fear what lies ahead, the most important domanda of all: Can we ever change what we really are?"
- "In the beginning there was discovery. A confusion of elements. The first snowfall of impossible change. Old lives undone, left behind. Strange faces made familiar. New nightmares to challenge sleep. New Friends to feel sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza with. Only then comes control. The need to impose order unto chaos, through determination, through study, through struggle. All in defiance of a thundering truth. They’re here, and the earth shudders underfoot."
- "For all his bluster, it is the sad province of Man that he cannot choose his triumph. He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes. Hoping that he'll have the courage to answer."
- Sylar: "Whoever te think I am, I'm not."
Mohinder: "You are the man who murdered my father. Do te still expect me to believe you're Zane Taylor? Zane was killed three days ago. The same giorno I met you. And te thought te were so clever giving me his DNA. You're a parasite. te killed my father and fed off his work."
- "Where does it come from, this quest? This need to solve life's mysteries, when the simplest of domande can never be answered. Why are we here? What is the soul? Why do we dream? Perhaps we'd be better off not looking at all. Not doubting, not yearning. That's not human nature. Not the human heart. That is not why we are here."
- Peter: "You Chandra Suresh?"
Mohinder: "No. That was my father."
Peter: "Yeah, um... Your father wrote a book about people with... abilities. I-I think I may be one of them."
- Mohinder: "Your life may be in danger. I believe someone is targeting you."
Nathan Petrelli: "Can te be a little più specific? Twelve percent of the electorate strongly opposes me."
- Mohinder: "You'd take the life of one little girl to save another?"
Mr. Bennet: "If I have to. Taking her life would save thousands."
Mohinder:"And Thompson? Did te save thousands of lives da killing him?"
Mr. Bennet:"No, just my own."
Molly: "Officer Parkman?"
Parkman: "Molly?"
Mohinder: "You know this man?"
Molly: "I told te he was coming. He promised to keep me safe."
Parkman: "That's right. And nobody is going to hurt you."
- Molly (While Mohinder is drawing her blood): "You're not like the other doctors."
(Mohinder smiles)
Molly: "They're much better at this." (laughs)
- "When evolution selects its agents it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and te may be asked to do something against your very nature. Suddenly the change in your life that should have been wonderful comes as a betrayal. It may seem cruel, but the goal is nothing short of self-preservation. Survival."
- "This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All te can do is hope and trust that when you've served its needs faithfully, that there may still remain some glimmer of the life te once knew."
- "Sometimes domande are più powerful than answers. How is this happening? What are they? Why them and not others? Why now? What does it all mean?"
- "Evolution is an imperfect, and often violent process. A battle between what exists, and what is yet to be born. In the midst of these birth pains, morality loses its meaning. The domanda of Good and Evil reduced to one simple choice: survive, o perish."
- "The Earth is large, large enough that te think te can hide from anything. From Fate, from God. If only te found a place far enough away. So te run. To the edge of the Earth, where all is sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza again, quiet and warm. The solace of salt air, the peace of danger left behind, the luxury of grief.
And maybe, for a moment, te believe te have escaped."
- "You can run far, te can take your small precautions, but have te really gotten away? Can te ever escape? o is the truth that te do not have the strength o cunning to hide from Destiny? That the world is not small, te are. And Fate can find te anywhere."
- "We are all, at our cores, the sum of our fears. To embrace Destiny we must, inevitably, face those fears and conquer them, whether they come from the familiar, o the unknown."
- To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose. The Earth spins at a thousand miles an ora as we desperately try to keep from being thrown off. Like the first blush of Winter that signals the great migration. Is there any warning of their arrival, a sign, a single event that set this chain into motion? Was it a whisper in God's ear? Survive, adapt, escape. And if we could mark that single moment in time, that first hint of the prophecy of approaching danger, would we have done anything differently, could it have been stopped, o was the die long fa cast? And if we could go back, alter its course, stop it from happening, would we?"
- This list, these people. Their future is written on their DNA, just as the past, it seems, is written in stone. Was the die cast from the very beginning, o is it in our own hands to alter the course of Destiny? Of all our abilities, it is free will that truly makes us unique. With it, we have a tiny but potent chance to deny Fate. And only with it, can we find our way back to being human."
- "But now I have you, Mr. Sylar!"
- "What your talking about is genocide!"
