-----
It was nearly noon and House still wasn't at the hospital. Cuddy got up from her office chair and made her way to Wilson's office. She knocked and walked in.
"Have te seen o heard from house," she asked while sitting down in the chair across from his desk.
"Not since last night. Why," he asked eyeing her questioningly.
"It's noon and he still isn't here so I was wondering if te knew where he was."
"well he didn't come home last night."
"And your not at all worried about that?" She looked at him confused.
"No because I know where he went last night. It would've been più of a surprise had he come home."
"Care to share where that was?"
"I don't see how that matters."
"If it makes him not come to work it matters."
"So this is just about work?" He eyed her knowing there was another reason behind it. He just had to get her to admit it.
"...of course it is," she detto while looking away.
"Sure it is," he detto sarcastically.
"I'm just gonna go back to my office," she detto quickly getting up. Wilson shook his head watching her practically run out the door.
"Stop toying with him Cuddy." She quickly turned around.
"What are te talking about?"
"You have this hidden agenda to keep him around. da making it seem your not interested, but we both know te are."
"I am not toying with him Wilson!"
"Yes te are. te might try to act happy with Lucas, but te want House. So your trying to keep him around. Either actually sposta your relationship inoltrare, avanti with House o let him go. te already hurt him, what are te trying to do? Extend the pain? Rub it in his face what te have?"
She began to tear up. "No of course not," she detto quietly.
"Then pick Cuddy, cause te can't have both of them," he looked at her angrily.
She nodded and quietly left the room.
-----
As Cuddy was making her way back to her office she tried to think of what she should do. Lucas was good for Rachel, but was he good for her too? He was good for her, but was he what she wanted AND needed? Her thoughts were cut short when she saw House checking in. She wiped her eyes and quickly walked over to him eyeing him curiously.
"It's past 12:30 where were you?" He looked at her and noticed her eyes were red. He assumed she had been crying, but he wasn't going to say anything.
"I had a date. Spent the night," he detto while walking away.
She stared after him shocked. She couldn't believe what she just heard. He had a data and spent the night! Then again he could just be pulling my leg she thought to herself. At least she hoped it was the latter.
-----
"Were te serious when te detto te had a date," asked Cuddy as she walked into House's office.
House had been working on his case for hours and he couldn't seem to figure out what was wrong with his patient. It seemed like whenever he was positive he was right the patient would crash. He hadn't talked to Cuddy since this morning and her barging in here wasn't helping his thought process.
"Yes," House answered shortly.
Cuddy looked down at the floor, suddenly finding her shoes più interesting. House saw this out of the corner of his eye and looked up.
"What," he asked curiously.
"Nothing," she quickly answered. "I'm happy for you," she detto in almost a whisper. She suddenly felt like crying and she knew she had to get out of there. She had hoped what he detto had been a joke, but she had just gotten a wake up call. She quickly turned around and walked out the door not bothering to look at House. She felt più tears rise when he didn't stop her from leaving. Why had she hoped he had? She knew the reason, but she wouldn't admit it. Damn her, and her damn pride.
House stared at her curiously as she turned around not looking at him. She walked out the door and he didn't stop her. He wanted to, but he knew in order to get past her he needed to let her go. Emotionally and physically. He shook his head and looked at the white board focusing on the patient.

"Don't think I don't think about it,
Don't think I don't have regrets,
Don't think te don't get to me.
Between the work, and the hurt, and the whiskey,
Don't think I don't wonder 'bout,
Could've been should've been all worked out.
I know what I felt, and I know what I said,
But don't think I don't think about it."

I was Leggere up on opiate withdrawal and apparently te can go through withdrawal not just to stop taking the drug, Vicodin in House’s case, but to reduce the amount you’re taking.
So in House’s case, like Wilson said; his Vicodin levels where way to high and so the only option was to let his body recover and reduce it’s need for that amount it got everyday.
Therefore, the successivo morning when he was seemingly better; it was because of the extreme cold-turkeyness that House used to reduce his levels of Vicodin in order for his hallucination of Amber to go away. So I don’t think it was a hallucination, because he hasn’t quit Vicodin, he has only reduced the amount he takes within the spazio of a horrible 24 ora detox. His body no longer craves the Vicodin every ora o so like before.
Short and simple :)
