i read the book and to be honest i hated it it was a complete waste of time and energy, it does cover all the 6 jane austen novels and compares each main character in austen's novels to another character in the book club. i am a huge austen fan and i tend to like anything with AUSTEN on it but not this book. But if you've nothing better to do i guess its adequate

I have seen the movie but cannot claim to have read the book. I too am an avid Austen fan but I enjoyed this movie more for the characters and intrigue more than for the Austen references
